I am not a car dealer but I pride myself on finding and collecting some of the finest rust free. best built automobiles in the southwest. This car is no exception.  I knew I had to own her the moment I saw her. However. right now I have many cars and no room - so she must go.

This five window. 1932 Ford originated as a hotrod in Simi Valley. CA. It was owned by the Wortman Family there in the early 1950s. In 1959 it was channeled and fitted with a 1957 Chrylser drivetrain. It was heavily involved in the drag racing in Southern California area in the early 1960s. In 1970 Scott Wortman. the owner. moved to his uncle's farm in Wetmore. KS. In 1972. the 392 was rebuilt with the intent to go racing in Kansas. As usual. plans don't always go as hoped and the car was stored until 1985 when Scott decided to sell it. This is where Rick Reust comes in. He saw an add for the 32. called and went to look at it and was exactly what he was looking for. Even the yellow paint and pin-striping is vintage 1950s. The only catch was. Scott was not home and his aunt had Rick in to look at the car. Rick waited over two hours for Scott to return and unfortunately found out the car had been promised to a relative.

       

Ten years had past and in 1995. Rick returned home to find a message that stated. "I have that 32 Ford you wanted to buy. call me if you want to buy it". Rick purchased the car the next day. The car was untouched from the 1960s. It still retained its Chrysler 392 Hemi with a Crager intake with four Stromberg 97s. original Moon gas tank. push button transmission and slicks on the rear.

       

Over the years. Rick slightly modified the 32 for drivability while retaining all the vintage nostalgia of a period correct hotrod. It has received a new turbo 400 with a shift kit. a Ford nine inch rear-end with a posi. new exhaust system. new ignition system and updated interior. but retained original Stewart Warner gauges. It runs on the center two Stromberg 97s and drives fantastically.

       

When the interior was redone. there was some touch up painting done to the firewall area. door jambs. Rick also added a large gas tank to the rear which was painted to match as the original two gallon Moon tank was insufficient. The original Moon tank was converted into an overflow tank.

       

In 2007. Rick moved from Kansas to Prescott. Z and earlier this year I purchased the vehicle from him. I've done nothing to this vehicle except enjoy the smiles it's put on my face. but unfortunately my wife feels that I don't need to own seven hotrods. The car is located in Phoenix.           Condition
          This is a great running and driving original steel 1932 Ford Hotrod. It never overheats and is very roomy inside for a 32 Ford. The driver's side window regulator is a little stiff and the window has a crack in it. Overall this a very nice vintage 1950s built hotrod. but is not perfect as it is almost 80 years old.
