1939 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup

Rare 1939 Barrel-nose Pickup85 H.P. numbers matching engine/frame.Very original, mostly stock pickup. I have owned it for 2 years and purchased it from whom I believe is the second owner. He purchased it in the 1970's from a local farmer and only used it in parades and local rides. It has been garaged every day since the 1970's. It sat for several years before I purchased it and got it running and driving. It has had some updates over the years.It was repainted sometime before the second owner purchased it (1970's)The second owner upgraded it to 12 Volt, installed the correct tailgate (is not painted) and replaced the original steering wheel with the banjo style.Things I have had done:Drained fuel tank and cleaned fuel lines and carburetorReplaced ignition resistorOil changeReplaced brake master cylinder and bled brakesReplaced both water pumps and filled with new coolantReplaced terminal contacts on ignition switchInstalled new signal stat turn signal switch and wired signals front and rearRepaired light switch and dimmer switchReplaced tie-rod endsRe-cored the original radiator and installed electric fan. On my second test drive after purchasing it, the 4-blade metal fan broke off while driving and I had to have the radiator repaired and re-cored. I used the plastic electric fan because I didn't want to go through that experience and expense again. It can easily be converted back to original.My mechanic identified a crack in the block. He patched it. I did not have it stitched or welded.It runs, drives and stops beautifully. The engine just purrs, the transmission/clutch shifts extremely well.3-speedSpeedometer, Amp meter, pressure and fuel gauges all work. Odometer does not.Paint is tired but looks good. This is not a “10-footer.” There are a couple of blisters as shown in photos. It has some “garage rash” that could be buffed/polished/worked on.There is a hole in the exhaust system, so it will need replacement.There is zero rust on the frame, undercarriage and metal. It is still covered with years of grease and oil.The bed floor is very rough but the rest of it is in good shape. It was used as a farm pickup.This pickup can be driven and enjoyed as it is, or it is a perfect candidate for a complete restoration.I have only driven it approximately 75-100 miles total, and only in absolutely dry conditions, as did the previous (approx. 45 yr.) owner. Any test drives will be done in those conditions.It comes with a few extra items, including a pencil sketching of this pickup done in 1980, notebook of barrel nose pickups, metal picture sign, “Hemmings Book of PICKUP TRUCKS”, 2 extra 85 HP badges in excellent condition, 1939 reference book and 1948 Ford and Mercury V8 engines repair manual.This pickup is for sale locally, and the seller reserves the right to exercise this option.
