Brought this third gen 1996 toyota Hilux Surf in from the UK along with a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser Surf Colorado. Has a 3.0 Turbo Diesel 5 spd auto with on the fly 4 wd coupled with a low 4 wd transfer care. The Surf is in nice condition, runs and drives very well. Shifts well with no issues, has no leaks and no blow by. The interior is in good shape with your typical wear and tear as a 1996 will have. Its been crazy cold here in Bemidji MN, sub zero temps at night, single digits during day. The truck starts every time first turn, no exceptions. Heat works amazingly well. All lights work, brakes, running and interior. Its the SSR-G badging and is a JDM vehicle, has the MPH conversion done in UK upon importing. Tires have 80% tread left. I have found that I get all my parts the quickest from Australia's ebay. They have had everything I need and ship quick. I have all import docs and along with a clean Minnesota title. I know some will ask if this can be driven cross-country...I have no idea. I have driven this close to a 1 k and have had no issues. Its a Toyota and the 3.0 TD is a bullet proof engine. Most of the tune up work was done in UK, having said that I would order a set of belts and oil, fuel filter. Can get a kit online for under $100. The 3 rd gen 4 runner is the same vehicle and most parts are interchangeable. Do your due diligence and research the Surf, most people love the trucks and are highly sought after.
