1959 Vanguard Vignale Estate Wagon Extremely Rare*** NO RESERVE ***History: This is a 1959 Vanguard Vignale Estate Wagon, built in England by Standard Triumph, the same company that built Triumph sports cars. Research shows that one Vanguard Vignale Estate was sold in Canada and only in 1959. None were sold in the US. Sedans sold in small numbers over the years in Canada again none in the US. It appears that a production of 21 left hand drive Vignale were built during the normal production run. Production of the Vignale in UK ended up in 1961, although it is rumoured that some special orders were built in 1962. This may be the only LHD Vanguard Vignale Estate Wagon in the world, although there was a special order 1962 in Alberta, that was since scrapped. Parts are available through the many clubs in England and the Austrian Vanguard club. (an original sale brochure is included)I purchased this car from a woman in 2016, it was her daily driver until the carburetor started acting up. Her husband removed it to rebuild it, but passed soon after and the car was parked. I have a large collection of cars and have come to realize that I will never get them all done in my lifetime. I have not gotten to this car in last 6 years and with so many projects ahead of it I know its not going to happen. I have placed a low starting bid on this car with no reserve because I'm serious about selling it. This is an exceptionally rare car that will be an easy restoration, if your in the market for a "one only" car at an affordable price then this may be the car for you.Mechanical: The car does not run at this time and I have never made any attempt to start it. The car appears to be complete mechanically with the exception of the carburetor, it is missing (the air cleaner housing is in a box in the cargo area). The car rolls and steers but no brakes, the tires are good. The Vanguard has a 4 cylinder (Triumph) engine with a 3 speed manual transmission.Body: The body is very good for the age of the car there is some rust but it is minimal with no panels needing replacement. The floors and cargo area appear to be good and firm however I have not had it on a hoist. There is body damage to the left front fender and hood and to the left rear by the tail light, all repairable. All trim is present except: 1- taillight trim, the hood insignia and both headlight bezels. The glass is intact and the windows and tailgate operate as they should. The grill filler is not original.Interior: The interior is complete except the radio, but needs to be redone.Parts: Available through the many clubs in England and Austrian Vanguard club. The car shares much of its mechanical with Triumph. The trim missing from this car is shared with the sedans an considering how popular these cars were in England and Australia they should be very easy to come by.Shipping:US Buyers... I can at the buyers expense ship the car to Blaine Washington and assist with the paperwork as I am very familiar with the process (its really quite simple).Canadian buyers... I can at the buyers expense ship the Vanguard to Vancouver or Calgary. The car has a BC registration.Overseas buyers... I can at the buyers expense ship the car to port in Vancouver and help arrange a broker for export. If you are new to Ebay please contact me when you are bidding so I can confirm that you are a real person. If you are a scammer don't waste your time I have heard it all before.
