Classic Vintage 1959 MG Magnette ZB -Tax and MOT exempt - Christmas Bargain

A classic vintage 1959  MG Magnette ZB , Historic Vehicle,  Black 4 door saloon car fitted with an MGB 1800 engine to give it more oomph. The bodywork  although looking good in the pics the paint  is a bit tired especially on the roof where the paint  is  flat and could really do with a re-spray at some time unless you like to keep the classic patina look. The engine  goes OK (needs a tune-up)   it is an MGB  1800 with  twin SU carbs and the original gearbox is fine if treated gently, the brakes are as you would expect from a classic car and would benefit from a servo which would  greatly help. Inside the leather seats are in good condition with only a small  section of damage (easily repairable) on the side of the passenger seat. The wooden dash  is in pretty good condition, the dash gauges  mostly work  hit or miss, the heater does not, it has the original users handbook,  there is an original radio fitted (not connected) and modern working  flashing indicator lights, inertia seat belts fitted to front seats . A new fuse box to replace the  old  bakerlite one, new screen washer and a brand new alternator just fitted replacing the  old dynamo, the reverse light works. In the boot  there is the original wheel brace and jack and a workshop manual plus some of the old original parts also 2 x brand new tyres just fitted . The front and rear windscreens need removing and new rubber seals which are supplied will need to be  fitted  to improve the look of the car. With a little fettling this MG  could once again be returned to it's glory days,  a real head turner and  give years of fun  apart from being a very good investment.  Unfortunately due to my age and health  I will not be able finish off this project so I would hope to sell it to someone who can finish off the restoration.  I have tried to give as honest a view of this car as I can but it is a 62 year old classic so don't expect it to be perfect and is sold as seen tried and tested. This car is Tax and MOT exempt. I am open to sensible offers near to my  starting price  as once  a successful bid is made it is legally binding. In September I completed a 60 mile round trip in it to a classic car show and it went well and in the last few days driven it around our village and it started and again drove  well.

Yes it is registered as an 'Historic Vehicle' so NO road tax required and MOT  exempt.

Yes it looks like the same model MG Magnette (but not this one)  that's currently being used by the policeman (Robson Green)  in  the TV series 'Granchester' .

In answer to a question ; a friend of mine looked under the car at the 'spring hangers' etc and said all looked OK  !

I did a 60 mile round trip recently to a classic car show without any problems but If I was going to do a very long journey in it  I would  use a trailer or make sure there was suitable breakdown cover just to be on the safe side as after all it is over 60 years old.
