PLEASE READ ADVERT FULLY BEFORE CONTACTING, PLEASE DON'T ASK TO MAKE AN OFFER WITHOUT SPEAKING TO ME ON THE PHONE OR VIEWING THE CAR FIRST. THIS IS A GENUINE SALE BY A GENUINE SELLER WHO IS VERY SCAM SMART AND CAN SPOT A SCAMMER FROM MILES AWAY. I WILL ONLY ENTERTAIN GENUINE BUYERS, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOURS OR MY TIME. THE CAR IS AVAILABLE UNTIL REMOVED FROM EBAY AND I WILL NOT REPLY TO ANY OFFERS OR ANYONE ASKING IF THE CAR IS STILL AVAILABLE.This beautiful M119 engined January 1996 Mercedes Benz R129 SL 500, originally supplied by Normand of Mayfair Ltd, London is regrettably for sale.A matching numbers car that's super solid, straight and has very low mileage for it's age. A complete luxury powerhouse that has been meticulously cared for and unmolested. With just below only 107,000 miles from new and a large file containing documentation of MB Service history and a very recent big service overhaul, that mileage on these engines is nothing. It's been stored in a classic and vintage Porsche/German automobilia museum for the past three years at a good friend of old's very reputable and globally successful classic Porsche parts and servicing emporium in England and only used for an annual cruise out for its MOT test. The current MOT expires in June 2022 with only one advisory being dealt with.Having never been restored and not needing so, this near on six figure (when new) fully loaded Bruno Sacco designed beauty is a great example of a true iconic survivor with an under carriage and body matched in condition to that of a much younger car and is not to be confused with the average BS “we took in px” examples often seen. This 155 MPH GT Roadster is up there with the heavy weights and packs a performance punch to the tune of 320 BHP via the bulletproof and more desirable M119 engine, coupled to a butter smooth Sport and Eco mode automatic gearbox… the box alone sold me this car and has been rebuilt not through faults but just to get back to factory spec as has the cars wiring.Single bold colour ‘904 dunkenblau/midnight blue' slab-side body is as straight as the day it was built and has been detailed using only premium products. 8 hole slot alloy wheels with Pirelli P7s all round make tarmac contact.Removable hardtop is very good with a mint headliner, as is the soft top which was replaced in 2015. All electrically operated swiftly with a Weismann collapsible hood stand and a fly/wind deflector which is housed within the boot compartment walls alongside an unused spare tyre and unused first aid kit.Cream hide interior features thick pile cream carpets, heated and electrically operated front leather memory seats, digital ice cold A/C and climate control with a QuickClear front screen, original Blaupunkt Pasadena DJ quick release stereo cassette player and boot mounted CD changer, electronic stability programme, electric adjustable steering rack, electric windows, electric mirrors, auto-dim rv mirror, cruise control, driver and passenger air bags, polished burr walnut centre console, leather rollover bar, fire extinguisher and Mercedes approved Thatcham alarm/immobiliser system and Tracker. Being the top of the range model at the time, this is the 4 seater version with fold down carpeted luggage storage…the leather rears are visually unused. Serviced by Mercedes and reputable German specialist independent previously, with a recent major service including oil change/filter, plugs, leads, aux belts, tensioners, cabin filter, Pierburg fuel pump, Mann fuel filter and brake pipes, all carried out at a very reputable Porsche specialist on November 10th. There are stacks of receipts and invoices for previous MB maintenance work along with old MOT certificates and original books.Like it's predecessor the R107 SL, it's a fast rising investment at less than only a 5th of it's original price but heading back upwards. In a nutshell; everything works as it should on this HPi clear, on-the-button example. It presents beautifully and although not a concourse show car (yet) and it's not in that price range. Any car of this great standard deserves the love and to be taken to the next level…A few little stone chips/tiny marks, mild aged seat wear and a light wheel touch up (if fussy-no nasty kerbing) that's it. Looks, feels, sounds and smells amazing... a really lovely survivor car.Being offered for sale by former JD Classics/Woodham Mortimer personnel...having worked with many classic Mercedes and other Marques it's fair to say I know a good car and won't entertain tyre kickers. Please only contact if serious. Sorry, not interested in a px and this is only for sale due to a looming E Class project. I will consider sensible offers, talk to me but please don't send silly offers, they'll be ignored.Agents and auctioneers not required.
