Car location: Amlwch, Isle of Anglesey, United Kingdom

Seller's notes: The vehicle has been dry stored for several years and does need re-painting prior to showing again -see pictures 1, 2, & 3.The only fault I am aware of is that one of the gearbox output shafts needs to have new seals fitted. Consequently due to oil on the brake disc/pads on that side she only slews in one direction; no problem as such in that you can reverse and correct the direction of travel. However, obviously the seal needs to be replaced. I have a seal set and that will be included in the sale. The amber beacon is no longer with the vehicle it was damaged beyond repair. The 1st 2nd, 3rd pictures show the vehicle as it is November 2013.The 4th, 5th ,6th , 7th, 9th pictures show the vehicle when it was last at the War and Peace Show. The 10th picture show the vehicle in White as purchased

Vehicle Registration No. 07 FF 99

Date in Service 17th November 1977

Purchased in 1999

Not Road-Registered

Research of its history indicates that it first started service with 74 Battalion. 32 Guided Weapons Regiment. Royal Artillery and complete its service life with the Light Dragoons. based in Hohne. Bergen-Belsen in 1992.   It is thought that at about this time it was either painted white for UN Service in Bosnia or prepared for service and never deployed.   In 1994 it was recovered back to Ludgershall for disposal in 1996.

I purchased the vehicle as a non-runner and it was painted completely white.   Having transported it back home. I removed the power pack and it was stripped down. It was discovered that three of the pistons had ‘bounced' against their valves.   Over the next 12 months the engine was completely rebuilt. head. crank and bores checked. new pistons and bearings. all new valves complete with guides and shims fitted etc. Power pack refitted in the vehicle complete with new silencer and upgraded carburettor. Those of you who are familiar with the CVR(T) and CVR(W) series of vehicles will be aware that the initial carburettors tended to have a ‘flat' spot and backfiring was common.

About 80% of the vehicle was stripped down to bare metal and re-painted in standard green/black disruptive camouflage pattern early in the 2000's. It was prepared and re-painted every year prior to going to the War and Peace Show.   I stopped going down to the show about 6 years ago and she has been stored in my barn ever since.   I have included a picture from the show plus some taken this month; as you can see she needs a re-paint as in some areas the paint film has failed.   A pair of new civilian automotive batteries have recently been purchased and installed.   There are no secondary system batteries included.

The vehicle comes complete with a working Clansman IB2 control box and some associated system intercom interconnecting boxes.   There are no intercom boxes to crew headsets flexible leads etc included.

So far as I am aware. but I cannot guarantee. all the Guided Missile System control boxes. less the sighting unit are installed.

I had hoped to keep the vehicle and show it locally but due to retirement and the need to downsize to a smaller property I have reluctantly taken the decision to sell.

Notes regarding transportation the vehicle it is approximately 4700mm long; 2190mm overall width and 2220mm height over cupola GMG mounting.   Battle weight is given at 8345kg approximately; I do not know the unladen weight. However I believe when we lifted the vehicle by crane the SWL gave a weight of approximately 5000kg.   The buyer is to note that assistance will be given in loading the vehicle and that it will be necessary to liaise with seller as early as possible prior to collection.
