Up for sale is a 1989 Honda Crx Si if your looking at this ad then you know how rare theses cars are becoming in the current market and the potential price points mint examples can achieve. The vehicle has received extensive modifications/ restorations over the past year. I have two Honda Crx's that I just don't have time to enjoy/wrench on so it is time to let them go to free up some funds for house projects. I owned a CRX 24 years ago it was my first car and wanted to relive some of the enjoyment but with children and busy work schedule my time is slim.
Sporting a JDM B16a (40-50k miles) swap from JEI with the matching cable JDM close ratio transmission. The engine received new timing belt, tensioner, water pump, cam seal, plugs and valve cover grommet/gaskets. This transplant was made possible incorporating Innovative engine swap mounts, Hasport shift linkage with Ktuned adjustable shifter, Rywire tucked engine harness ( no check engine light every sensor works like it should) , chase bays charge harness and battery relocation kit. The high revving B16a engine was also upgraded to OBD1 via a JDM b16a Ecu/vtec solenoid and distributor. Some additional modifications to the drivetrain include PLM headers 4-1, Inovative traction bar, new axels and action stage 4 clutch and a skunk 2 intake manifold (still have original also), and short ram intake.
The exterior of the body is in excellent shape it has to be the cleanest CRX in my area. The exterior including the paint received some restoration/modifications and is always garage kept. The rear 1/4 panels are free of rust and the body doesn't have any body damage other than a few small chips/flaws in the paint which was just polished(the reflections look like a mirror). The glass and rubber is in fantastic shape and the tail lights are near mint which is so hard to find! The front corner lights are ebay knock offs made out of plastic but the headlights (have hid ballast installed) and lower marker lights are original stanley. The hood risers/spacer can be removed for the less aggressive look.
The suspension was overhauled by the previous owner with upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, coil overs/struts unknown brand ( Will look and find out) and suspension techniques bushings. The car is currently on steel wheels with not the best tires; the vehicle had aftermarket JDM wheels but I sold them. This gives the new owner an opportunity to get the wheels they like and keep the car price low for everyone to afford. Also note the super rare front and rear OEM mud flaps!
The interior of the vehicle is in good shape for its age, the original SI seat were removed by the previous owner and replaced with new buckets and adjustable rails ( for additional money or IF BUY IT NOW IS USED I will swap the aftermarket seat with some OEM CRX 90-91 si seats that are in my other CRX). A wood grain steering wheel was also incorporated for the JDM feel (yes the horn works), the climate control is intact and working. Vehicle has blaupunkt cd player with remote control. Broadway rear view mirror is installed but the original sun visors and rear view mirror are included with oem Honda hardware.
OK so if you made it this far and read all the goods lets list some things the car needs:
- one of the wheel studs needs to be replaced or re tapped the threads are buggered up ( I have the new stud and new set of lug nuts included with the sale)
-the antenna's mast is broken
- back cargo divider wall is worn/broken and could use repair see pics for condition
- The lower trim on the doors/chassis and body moldings could use some restoration depending on how picky you are they are still raw plastic that could be treated or painted to suit or just left as is because they are presentable as seen in the pictures. Some of the clips could be replaced on the lower door trim which is common for these vehicles but they are still attached.
-battery box was relocated to the trunk and needs to me mounted better
- front wiper arms need paint and blades
- door panels has the usual seat belt damage
