Late 1967 Deluxe Walkthru Microbus - original paint (Velvet Green / Pearl White).  SUPER COOL SUNBURNED PATINA BUS!

Link to 150+ additional pictures: 1967 Deluxe Bus Photos

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am relisting this bus at a cheaper price, but it does not come with everything shown.  Please read the next paragraph closely, I will get the pictures updated soon.  But until then, please note the following:
At $17,995, the bus does not come with the:
1) 2/3 middle seat and kick panel (you get a full width middle seat frame instead, an original split bus middle seat frame from an earlier year;
2) the black driver's seat (you get a project seat similar to the passenger seat);
3) the patina rear bumper (you get a pointed deluxe rear bumper in 2nd paint);
4) the original rear seat back w/ deluxe uprights (you get a nicely recovered non deluxe rear seat back).  If you want the other items, it will cost more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is an original German Split Bus. This is a unique opportunity to buy an original paint survivor Bus, that doesn't need the majority of the metal work that most project Buses do.  And one that comes with a super cool mother nature created paint job, along with most of the hard to find and expensive "deluxe specific" and "1967 only" parts.  This is a rare opportunity in today's world, don't miss out!  Most of the good German Buses have already been scooped up, or have already been sent overseas.

Clean title in my name. Has correct m-code plate, VIN plate and correct VIN inscription in engine area - all matching the title.  This is a rolling shell with most of the hard to find and expensive parts included. Its pretty solid too, check out the front floor, battery tray, doglegs, outriggers and jackpoints in the pictures - very decent!

- Spent most of it's life in the high desert, so there's not much rust by 2021 standards.

- Super nice "sunburned patina" look (if you're into that sort of thing - most are anymore... :-) please don't buy this Bus if you're wanting a bus with new paint, they are only original once.

- Walk through interior - original 7 passenger bus - original 6 popout Bus.

- Comes with most of the hard to find deluxe specific stuff. (All OEM - includes all the beltline trim, rocker spears, wheel trim rings, front and rear bumper trim, clock, chrome emblem, steering wheel / horn button and "jail bars". Also includes correct very hard to find brown colored cargo floor mat and cab floor mat [not shown] along with rear seat back.)

- Includes front and rear bumpers ("pointed" - correct for 1967. Both are original deluxe bumpers. Bumpers have been repainted.

- Includes both front seats (seats are frame only and rough and will need some serious welding...)

- Includes rear seat back only. Also includes rear seat kick panel in correct color. (So missing rear seat bottom - but that is the easiest / cheapest seating piece to source thankfully.)

- Includes ALL OG interior panels (all but three are in correct mesh platinum color). Even has 3 correct arm rests. (The two cargo door panels and the one behind them [short wall] are mesh grey and will need to be recovered - I am including a second "long wall panel" so you will have enough mesh plantinum material to do the job). Includes ALL the correct aluminum spears for the interior panels (not shown).

- Needs a couple of pieces of metal work. Needs the rear spare tire piece sourced and welded back in. Needs the speedometer surround (present) welded back in. Has some minor rocker rust through, very minimal rust by midwest (and really the entire US standards anymore. Has a couple of smaller dents that would need massaged out - one near each tail light, and one under passenger headlight.

- No engine, big nut transmission in unknown condition. Will need complete mechanical restoration. Some wiring snafu's will need sorted out I'm guessing.

- Missing headliner. Missing engine lid/rear apron. Otherwise bus is complete body wise. Bus is *mostly* complete parts wise (see below for details).

- Has all glass, windshields are both cracked.  If you are having a shipper pick up bus, I will ensure bus is properly "sealed up" for transport.  This will most likely be a combination of glass being re-installed and some creative use of heavy plastic on the two popout frames that are missing glass.  (Extra popout glass will be included, but not installed.)

INCLUDED BUT NOT SHOWN: Spare tire (wheel w/ crappy tire); passenger seat; popout latches; speedometer; fuel tank; AM radio w/ bezel; slider window hardware; ignition switch (no key); some hardware for securing rear seats; wiper motor/assembly; chrome dash ash tray (in lieu of painted one shown); cab floor mat; and other misc. hardware.

NOT INCLUDED: Rear seat bottom, outside mirror(s), luggage area carpet and corner panels; speaker bracket/speaker; windshield washer bottle; inside door handle escutcheons for all four doors; 1 rear ash tray; seat belts (yes, this was a factory seat belt bus...but most folks would want new ones of course); engine; inside cab door pulls; inner cargo door handles; one reverse light assembly; dash controls / handles; fuel tank straps; steering column dash bracket; sun visors; short beltline deluxe piece (b-pillar); beltline trim end pieces; turn signal switch; cargo door locking mechanism; deluxe trim beltline insert material; rear VOLKSWAGEN script; fuel gauge; fuel tank cap; one rear bumper bracket and both splash pans; and spare tire nut.  Maybe other stuff, please inquire if you don't see it or read about it and still have questions about something in particular!  (I probably have some of these parts around somewhere, and if I can find them, I will include them.)

ADDITIONAL THINGS TO NOTE:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SUPER IMPORTANT!!!!!>>>>>- At $17,995, the bus does not come with the 1) 2/3 middle seat and kick panel (you get a full width middle seat frame instead, an original split bus middle seat frame from an earlier year; 2) the black driver's seat (you get a project seat similar to the passenger seat); 3) the patina rear bumper (you get a pointed deluxe rear bumper in 2nd paint); 4) the original rear seat back w/ deluxe uprights (you get a nicely recovered non deluxe rear seat back).  If you want the other items, it will cost more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~- Pictures are part of the description, again if you don't see it or read about it, please ask.  I'm trying hard to be thorough. Don't assume its included if you don't see it or read about it!

- As noted above, there is a small dent under the passenger headlight, in the extra pics I can send you it is from where my finger is counterclockwise to 5pm on clock face in one of the pics (will make sense when you see it).  Pretty hard to see in pics.

- Scratch on roof is really a minor gouge.

- The forward cargo door is currently locked in place, I broke the lower rod off and can't get cargo door open; also, there is a slight spring in this same door, most noticable at the top of the door.

- One of the wheels has a "tear" in one of the lug nut holes.

- Bolts in the back of the arm rests will need a lot of penetrating oil and patience to be properly removed.

There's probably other little stuff I'm forgetting - make sure to ask if you have specific questions beyond what I have spelled out I guess. If you study the pics in the link below, and read the ad below, you will have a much better idea of where things are at than the overhwelming majority of Split Bus ads on the internet.  (If you are a TL;DR person, well...then that's on you....lol.)

This thing would make a GREAT OG Patina Ride once done, but (again) is full on basket case status currently. (Would also make a really nice budget priced 21 window clone / tribute Bus if that's your thing!)   Again, clean title in my name. Has m-code plate, VIN plate and correct VIN inscription in engine area - all matching the title.    ******NEEDS ASSEMBLY!******

Willing to assist with meeting your shipper and helping load.  Willing to ensure safe / secure packing of all included parts into the Bus as well.

International buyers welcome.PAYMENT: $500 non-refundable deposit due immediately, balance due within 7 days.  My preference would be to have the balance in the form of a bank to bank transfer, but will also accept cash in person or a bank check in certain situations.  I can hold the vehicle for up to 30 days after purchase, giving you plenty of time to pick it up or arrange for transport.

Call or text me at 605-679-7225 - please leave a message if you call, I rarely answer the phone. I reserve the right to end this item early, vehicle is for sale locally and at other places on the internet.

It is interesting to note that there seems to be fewer and fewer German Buses for sale as the years go by, and as a result their prices continue to climb.  If you spend some time looking around, you may even come to the conclusion (like I have) that there is currently a "German Split Bus shortage" of sorts.  For example, a full 1/4 of the "Split" ads on TheSamba (leading VW website)  are now "WTB" ads, and many of the "FS" ads are are trucks.  Additionally, there are now far more (mostly beat down / worn out) Brazilan Buses for sale online than there are original German Buses.
