1967 VW WESTFALIA CAMPER

Originally supplied In Amsterdam under the tourist delivery programme and toured western Europe taking in France. Spain. Italy and even a visit to England before being shipped to USA before the end of 1967.

The bus lived its life on the west coast in Oregon and more recently Colorado. Both Very dry states. The bus appears to have been garaged the majority of its life. There is no rust atall anywhere. no pinholes. no welding ever done or required . if looked after she wil never need to be welded

The bus is presented in the ever popular L87 Pearl White. Approximately 60% of the paint on this bus is original as applied in 1967 at the factory.

The newer paint we applied in 2012 for our customer who purchased the bus from us then. The bus is now reluctantly for sale as the owner is emigrating.

There is a very comprehensive collection of receipts going back to the early 80's.

The origonal service booklet is also present with several stamps from around Europe evident. How many cars that are 47 years old come with service history and the original service book?.

There has been several thousand US Dollars spent in 2011 just prior our acquisition of this terrific example. Mainly on mechanical work. The engine capacity is 1776cc.

The bus drives. selects gears. steers. and stops perfectly. She is a pure delight and pleasure to drive!. Very perky and a good turn of performance that keeps this bus in good stead with todays traffic speeds.

The bus has a DAB Digital stereo with I pod connection. The original electrical camping hook up has been converted to work in UK.

Front seats are newly re padded and covered with Quality TMI authentic covers. All new cab interior panels. All the furniture is original and period correct for 1967. No upgrades. or improvements in here. she is original and completely as built.

This bus will drive anywhere. We wouldn't hesitate to take a European tour as she once did in 1967! Hmm what a good idea!?

The gearbox is stadard and the factory reduction gearboxes are still in place. There are no noisey gears. no worn out sounding noises. a lot of work and money has been spent to keep this bus in tip top condition.

There is so much more to be said. I could write a small book about how lovely this old bus is!. however  we think if you know what you are looking at and have been looking for a pristine original example to invest in and enjoy at the same time a viewing and test drive will be your next step after a phone call. maybe to ask a few or as many questions as you might have!
