1979 Pontiac Trans Am

This is a solid driver and I would drive it anywhere. The engine is smooth. It doesn't overheat thanks to the cold case radiator (even on 98 degree days it is fine!). I love the car and planned on keeping it but need to sell some toys.

Located in Knoxville TN. Clean title in my name.

MECHANICAL:

403 / Auto setup from a low mileage 1978 Trans Am. I did this after purchasing the car.

2.56 rear end with posi / limited slip

OEM carb

Correct air cleaner and base for a 403, so the shaker fits correctly in the hood

B&M polished aluminum transmission pan

Newer parts:

4 new tires (3 installed, the 4th one needs to be mounted as it came in late with supply chain issues)

Water pump

Thermostat

Spark plugs

Cold Case Radiator (zero cooling issues)

OTHER NOTES:

VERY straight body

No rot underneath

Trunk is solid

Floors are solid

Doors shut nice and don't sag

Original under trunk lid sticker in place.

Trunk lid shows original black color, as well as door jambs

Rear package tray speakers work for the stereo. I use the AUX cable input from my iPhone.

Front cloth seats are perfect for a driver.

Power windows work

T tops don't leak

Odometer shows 11,XXX but who knows the true mileage.

It still has the 1979 style rear. This was not converted to 1978 style, but that conversion can be done.

I had removed the wiper motor for rebuild over the summer but never got around to send it in. It comes with the car along with new black wiper arms and blades. Also comes with original silver wiper arms.

T-Top plastic trim pieces were painted and come with the car. They're not in perfect shape but usable.

Quiet exhaust

I installed a set of the seat relocation brackets for the driver seat. I'm 6'2 and like my seat to be way back. But they can easily be removed. It only set the seat back an extra 2 inches.

GM style Keys open trunk and start the car.

All gauges seem to work except the tach.

Windshield has crack and I haven't gotten around to fixing it. I planned on going through insurance for my deductible.

Decals were done by previous owner, the one behind passenger door has started to fade. The hood one looks great. The one on the trunk lid spoiler definitely needs replaced as its started to peel. A new one is like $20 on ebay.

Paint has a very interesting non-smooth texture. Some of the clear coat has started peeling around, but the car still looks great with a wash.

Top of rear cloth seats (headrest area) are starting to split, but used good condition ones can easily be found

I removed the front license plate bracket with the bandit plate, but I still have the plate and I think I still have the plate mount. I'll include whatever I have with the car.

Magnetic antenna shown in some photos was lost at some point. New ones are like $20 on Amazon.

Carpet might be original

I need to clean it up and get better photos.
