THE CAR IS CURRENTLY STORED AS PART OF AN INVESTMENT COLLECTION AT CHATHAM-VAULT IN BRISTOL. IT HAS RECENTLY BEEN TO 'INTERPRO AUTOMOTIVE' IN BRISTOL TO BE ROLLING ROAD TUNED. THE CONDITION OF THE CAR IS EXCEPTIONAL FOR A 1988 VEHICLE. IT IS A TRUE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY!!
This Alfa Romeo 75 Veloce is a solid and highly original example of the classic ‘80 s sports saloon, with a well-documented history. Under the bonnet is the characterful 3.0-litre ‘Busso' V 6, which produces around 182 bhp and drives the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and factory limited-slip differential. This Alfa is believed to retain its factory finishes, having been well maintained throughout its life. The car is fresh from an extensive major service at 54,400 miles. New Full Stainless Steel exhaust system fitted by performance specialists at the cost of over £1000.00
This Alfa 75 sports characteristic Rosso painted coachwork, with grey part vinyl and velour upholstery, accented by a handsome light wood Nardi steering wheel. It is equipped with the factory Veloce body kit, comprising of more dramatic wings and side skirts, plus the Veloce composite rear spoiler. The car rides on original Speedline 15-inch alloy wheels which are all shod in matching Hankook Ventus V 12 Evo tyres. The cabin features a sliding sunroof, a digital clock, and the typical red Alfa 75 instrument cluster readout. The car is fitted with a custom-made full stainless steel exhaust system. A raft of maintenance invoices will accompany the vehicle, documenting the history of the car from new, plus the original bill of sale and a full set of original Alfa Romeo handbooks. There is no known bodywork damage. Its Rosso Alfa paintwork is in generally good condition. It does have minor stone chips and scratches on the front bumper and bonnet commensurate with the car's mileage. The vendor has also indicated some cracking on the passenger side rear bumper and some micro blistering on the bonnet. The rubber gaskets behind the door handles appear to be slightly deteriorating with age. Inside, the grey part vinyl and velour seats are in genuinely excellent order, showing no significant wear, and supporting the low indicated mileage. The roof lining is starting to sag in a few places. No mechanical issues have been detected with the car. The most recent MOT test was on 13 October 2021 at 54,500 miles, which was a clean pass with no advisories or defects. Its most recent service was in September 2021, where technicians at Chatham-Vault in Bristol performed a major service that included the following: an engine oil and filter change, NGK iridium plugs, NGK panel air filter, titanium brake bleed nipples, a new OEM replacement alloy radiator, new Carbone Lorraine front brake pads and a new fuel filter. At the same time, the brake fluid tank was also ultrasonic cleaned, and the body kit was removed, so that the inner and outer sills and all of the box sections could be filled with wax oil, for rust prevention purposes. The vendor also took the car to a rolling road during ownership, for a tune up. The test was performed to optimise the running setup, rather than for maximum power extraction. It was found to produce 181.7 bhp – only a few less than the original quoted 188 bhp for the car when it was new. 1990 – 2,650 miles 1991 – 14,990 miles 1992 – 16,330 miles 1993 – 16,410 miles 1995 – mileage not readable under dealer stamp 1996 – 23,209 miles 1997 – 25,000 miles 1998 – 28,000 miles 1999 – 30,000 miles 2000 – 30,000 miles 2001 – mileage not readable under dealer stamp 2002 – mileage not readable under dealer stamp 2003 – 33,000 miles 2004 – 34,000 miles 2006 – 35,000 miles 2007 – 36,000 miles 2009 – 40,000 miles 2010 – 45,000 miles 2013 – 51,000 miles 2014 – mileage not recorded on invoice 2015 – mileage not recorded on invoice 2016 – 53,000 miles 2018 – mileage not recorded on invoice 2020 – 54,400 miles
SUMMARY
This Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 V 6 is an original and unmolested example of an iconic Italian sports saloon. A factory Veloce body kit provides additional visual drama, while a full stainless steel exhaust system subtly enhances the exhaust note from the smooth ‘Busso' V 6 engine. This Alfa would be a great choice as an occasional B-road companion, or for exhibiting at car shows, and would make a fine addition to any assembly of modern classics.
