1946 chevrolet bus. This was a 15 year long project that needs very little to finish. It started out as a 46 person school bus rescued from a scrap yard. I removed 14 feet from the frame and body and chopped the top by 4 Inches. It has a built 1974 Pontiac 400 with a 4 l 80 e automatic tranny with a compushift controller. The front axle is the original axle with new kingpins and tie rod ends. It has a power rack and pinion steering. The rear axle is a Dana 80 from a 1994 HD wrecker with 5:38 gear ratio and disc brakes. It has a 4 row aluminum radiator with 2 electric fans pulling 4000+ CFM. Edelbrock performer manifold with a Rochester 850 Quadrajet.for the carb. The headers are stock to allow the exhaust fit within the frame. The power brakes and power steering use a hydro boost system. The wheels and tires are 19.5" and are in good shape. There is a 50 gallon aluminum gas tank mounted inside behind the drivers seat which needs to be strapped down and a box built around it, or mount another tank elsewhere. The body is in great shape. I did use Bondo to fill in dents in the front fenders and to rebuild the rear end under the rear door. The rear door is fully functional as is the front door. The seats and steering column are from various donors. I used as much of the original glass on the lighting fixtures including the stop lamps on the rear. It's been rewired from a kit that has all new fuse holders and relays. It has an on board air compressor for the air horn or whatever needs compressed air. Like I said, this has been a 15 year project that needs to be finished to be road worthy. I drive it down the highway and it steers well. The alignment is within specs except the camber, the front axle needs to be bent in order to correct it, jus like grampa did it! This bus is a real head turner.
