1971 BMW 2002 (VIN# 2571744) in Colorado Orange (original color) with a sunroof and 2.0 liter M 10 engine paired with a five speed transmission.The original engine was replaced by a previous owner in the mid-80's with a factory replacement 2002 tii engine (without the fuel injection) although the car is not a tii (despite the previous owners optimistic badging). The engine has duel weber DCOE 40 carburetors, a schrick 292 camshaft, dual camshaft springs and a stahl header that has been ceramic coated. Cold start takes a few long cranks with the weber carbs but starts immediately when warm. A light weight lithium-ion battery has been installed and a charger is included as well as a MSD igntion system.The interior has flofit seats installed and has a recently installed Koogle center console with radio and gauges. All lights and gauges are functional. The heater works but the control are a bit tough. The headliner is also a bit stained but the sunroof works with no problem.There are two small areas of rust in the engine bay that are shown in the pictures and a few nicks in the paint but otherwise the paint is in very good condition. Included with the sale is the original bill of sale along with several folders of the cars history, a library including BMW blue binders and a number of parts. The parts include a pair of Recaro seats that need to welded and recovered, a one-piece replacement dash with no cracks, a fuel tank and a box of misc. parts.
