1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Factory Power Top Car & Hard Top Included. Not many people have every seen a power top C 1 or even heard that they were ever made but here is one! Original #'s matching engine that has been overhauled in 2006 with receipts totaling over $20,000. 327-300 hp, 4-spd and factory positraction rear with 3:70 gears. Roman red exterior with Black interior and White soft top. Very nice mostly survivor paint with some flaws just due to age on a non hit original body. Original survivor interior with original carpet that is slightly faded.
Interior Simply gorgeous deep deep black floods the interior in vinyl and leather panels, coverings, and carpeting. Chrome trimmings for the doors and handles are near perfect and all functional. Seats are all original and bend with the curve of the interior shell, which has a central storage compartment and a button to open the rear cowl for the top storage. A big black 3 spoked drilled stainless steering wheel front a great dash that sports molded deep cowl black surrounding silver and black face round gauges, clustered around an arched speedometer as its star. Just a great looking dash, and when behind the wheel, you'll feel like you are piloting the Millennium Falcon! For the passenger is a full on inwardly curved cove with a built on "Jesus" bar. A new digital radio emulating the original is in the center of the dash, and just above is the cool dash mounted rear view mirror. A central vertical panel dives downward from the dash and houses the airflow controls and a clock. The shifter is in a chromed panel complete with an ashtray, and stain original carpet covers the floors.
Drivetrain Fully rebuilt original numbers matching 327-300 hp. Both the engine and transmission where overalled in 2006 by Precision Motive Inc who specializes in Corvettes. All mechanical components where also gone over and repaired/replaced if needed. Receipts for all the work is included and was done at a cost of $20,412.65
Undercarriage Wonderfully preserved, unmodified suspension, steering and drum brakes all around, no rust seen, and just beautifully unrestored survivor.
Drive-Ability Behind the wheel one feels like a touch of class is presenting to them with the long tasteful dual headlight front leading the way. This car started immediately, and after a short warm up, it was off to the test track. It handles very well, accelerates with plenty of power, and comes to a straight quick panic stop. All functions were working well, and it was an overall great experience and a pleasure to be behind this wheel. ( Fuel gauge is not accurate ).
A numbers matching car with documentation in mostly unrestored condition with the rare power top option! A great driver, excellent condition example of the nicest year for the C 1. And it's a convertible!
