1975 Iso Rivolta LeleManufacturers of the Isetta bubble car, Iso, joined the ranks of supercar constructors in 1962 with the launch of the Giotto Bizzarrini-designed Rivolta coupé at the Turin Motor Show. The Iso Rivolta Lele, named after Lele Rivolta, the wife of Piero Rivolta (son of Iso company founder Renzo) was a sports coupé manufactured between 1969 and 1974. Marchello Gandini, who also designed the Lamborghini Miura, Countach and Maserati Khamsin, penned the design. The Lele, being a 2+2 seater, filled the gap between the Grifo and the Fidia and shared its powertrain, a V8 engine with automatic gearbox, from General Motors (GM). In 1972 the GM engine was replaced with a Ford automatic gearbox and Cleveland 351 cubic in. V8 engine.The Iso Rivolta Lele offered today is presented in its original blue shade of Azzurro Metallizzato 106 A 32 with a contrasting original magnolia hide interior; the exterior is complemented by the recently restored magnesium alloy wheels and all is presented in very good order. Manufactured in 1974 and first registered in January 1975, this automatic Lele is fitted with the later Sports dashboard which includes a voltmeter, water temperature, oil temperature and fuel gauge located in front of the passenger and has the further advantage of an adjustable steering column. This genuine UK registered Lele is one of only 50 right hand drive cars produced and is number 261 of a total of 280 built. The car has covered a mere 38,270 miles.In 2015 the car came out of long term storage where it had been sitting since 1997. At the time the car was gloss red and in need of some love. It was recommissioned, MOT'd and put back on the road and used by its enthusiast owner sparingly over the following couple of years.
