1990 BMW 318 "i S" 2 Door Manual 146 k miles The car started life as a 318 i but has been updated to 318 i S specification. lightly modified with tasteful, period-correct extras. Bodywork in great condition - paint and trim looks fantastic. Leather interior in great condition, m-tech 2 steering wheel. Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, Front fogs all working. Spare wheel, jack and tools present. 12 Months Mo T, no advisories Plenty of bills, serviced regularly. Recent history: Sep 2021 - Last service and inspection by a local specialist - Oil & filter change. Coolant tested OK, Rear top suspension bushings replaced. Sep 2020 Oil & filter change, brake fluid change, had the rear brake discs and calipers replaced, new pads on all corners. Sep 2019 Oil & filter change Apr 2019 Oil & Filter change, inspected at a local garage Aug 2018 purchased from previous owner. June 2017, the original M 40 1. 8 engine was replaced with the revvier DOHC M 42 1. 8 engine, which handily has more power than the 2. 0 six. All work done by Mann Autoservices in Tewkesbury. Gaskets, belts and seals were renewed. At this time the previous owner also swapped the clutch. The car is a Cat C after being in a rear end collision a few years ago and has been completely repaired. At the time the bodywork has been resprayed and restored to a high standard. The body is free from rust. Car is stored in a garage and gets laid up over winter (on a charger) to keep it that way. Surface corrosion on the diff housing and the front pass side lower control arm. No other visible corrosion (I've lifted the carpets and looked!). Car is undersealed. Non-standard parts: The aforementioned M 42 engine swap Stainless steel exhaust (at 2" and fitted mufflers it's not particularly loud, more for looks than anything else) Pod filter (presumably the swap motor didn't come with an airbox. I haven't corrected this as I liked the induction sound) Strut Brace 15 x 7 J Melber wheels - period correct, in great condition CD player with Aux input Overall this car would make a great platform for further modification, or just enjoy the E 30 experience as BMW intended!Up for auction as I'd like to see it go to make room for another project. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep it...
