Pro Street 1972 Mercury Comet Fully road legal A little relentless to let this go, it hasn't skipped a beat in the last 5 yrs but with a growing family and garage space at a premium it's time to test the waters as they say, this car has been increasing in value significantly over the last few years and shows no sign of slowing, a true appreciating classic with a V 8 to match!1972 Mercury Comet, 5.0 lt V 8 Ford 302 with manual 5 speed transmission, burnt orange, 42 k miles on the clock… the perfect package!This is a real head turner and receives lots of attention at the local shows and on the road, MOT and Tax except Ford 5.0 lt 302 V 8 , 5 speed manual transmission (Hurst short shift), Ford Racing clutch (installed 2014), Crane Cams, Carter AFB competition series carb, Edelbrock 289 performer intake manifold , MSD Multispark ignition (MSD 6 A), MSD Blaster 3 ignition coil, Ford Motorsport cam covers, Accel, racing spec ignition leads, Line lock, Brand new Fran electronic fuel pump and Carter filter (installed 2021) , Summit Racing pro street fuel cell, 16 gallons (located in trunk) braided fuel lines, Fuel pressure gauge in engine bay, Cut off exhausts, can be full exhaust or open just after the headers, I've had them open for years, fantastic sound!Fully restored body (carried out 2014), Fibreglass hood - stainless steel hood pins, Mickey Thompson Sportsman rear tyres (25 X 10.50-15 LT), Speedmaster front tyres (165 R 15), Weld racing drag alloys all round , Bright chrome work all round, New exterior wing mirror, Body work and interior is, fully detailed every 3 months, Glass all present with no cracks and in great condition all round, Underside is clean and clear of rust including rust proofing carried out in 2015, Rear battery cut off switch Interior has received the following: Bare body rust proofing to floors and full dynamat to interior floor and panels, New carpets throughout (Imported from US) OEM spec one piece, Hurst short shift, gear gaiter and gear knob, Roll cage (fitted 2014) NHRA Spec, New real wood style steering wheel and boss, Triple gauges, oil temp, oil pressure and volts, all working perfectly, New front seats, New seat harnesses, New stereo system (Pioneer DEH-1800 UB), headunit, rear speakers (JVC CS-ZX 6940), amp and sub (JBL), New door cards All paperwork present from my ownership and previous before it's import in 2015 Lovely example owner and cherished for the last 6 yrs, immaculate condition, 42 k miles on the body, less than 5 k miles since restoration which was carried out in 2014 in New York.Car was imported in 2015 and I have owned since import.Garaged all year round and not seen rain since owned, used for local shows in the show season and started weekly throughout the year, starts and drives everytime!All fluids, oil, transmission, coolant drained and changed on an annual basis along with plugs etc Prior to my ownership the car received a brand new Ford racing clutch and 5 speed manual transmission (2014)Some points on the car, the speedometer needs reconnecting at the rear of the instrument cluster, came lose earlier this year, needs popping back on.The door locks can be a little temperamental, I tend not to use these as the car has just been going to and from local shows Bodywork does have some marks and the fibreglass hood has a slight crack on the front nose The window seals on the doors will need replacing at some stage No fuel gauge (due to racing fuel cell) one can be added if needed, I haven't felt the need too Could do with a new dash pad, some sun cracks which is expected Thankfully the US still stocks all parts for the Comet with a few specialists which deal directly with classic Mercury's, most Ford parts are also interchangeable.More images can be provided along with any videos just message and I'll be happy to provide this, I also have images from the interior restoration including the rust proofing and dynamat process, any questions feel free to message!Viewings Welcome - 2
