This is a ‘Last Edition Beetle' number 171 of 300 silver Beetles that ended the production in Germany 

Before the continuation in Mexico.

Purchased by The General Motor Company Ltd in 1986, 

At that point the Beetle had a light restoration which included a repaint, 

After attending a few VW shows the Beetle was rarely used and ended up being dry stored, 

That was over 25 years ago! 

I have now retired from the family business and the Beetle has retired with me. 

I have decided to sell the Beetle as my real passion is Motorbikes and storing the Beetle will become difficult. 

 The Beetle needs a new home and to be used, not hidden away in dark storage,  

It has been recommissioned i.e., serviced, brakes serviced and repaired as required, plus a set of 5 new retro style tyres. The carburettor has been renewed, (it did not fair well from being stored, I have the original one) The Radio is original but disconnected and not working, I have left details in the car of a guy that can covert to FM and keep original look, also the cigarette lighter is disconnected as I am not sure how safe it is. 

General condition, the body has only had a wash and polish and looks good, as the pictures show it will need some paint if a concourse condition is required, the under body has had a few applications of ACF-50 (anti corrosion spray) condition is good 

 The interior is original but will require some work, the original fabric is no longer available, I thought it was best for the new owner to sort as a compromise will have to be made, headlining has some damage. 

Viewing recommended, I can arrange for it to be viewed on a ramp to fully inspect the underbody etc. I can take more pictures and short video as required, 

Note on E10 fuel, something to consider, all the flex fuel pipes have being replaced for use with modern petrol but other fuel components are not, and only E5 fuel should be used, Ethanol is corrosive and hydroscopic (absorbs water) so I would also drain the fuel system if the Beetle is to be stored for long periods. an easy task on older vehicles.
