2006 PONTIAC GTO, LS2, 6.0, 6 SPEED MANUAL, 26k , for sale
Current customer rating:
WELCOME TO THE REGRETFUL SALE OF MY 2006 PONTIAC GTO, ls 2, 6.0 engined, 6 speed manual, 26 k on the clock, 400 bhp, lsd rear end, same engine as used in the corvette.Car is finished in phantom metallic black with red leather seats and suede trim.Ive had the car for 3 years now, as stated its a very regretful sale. Before myself it was owned by a garage owner, then his daughter, before that it was apparently owned by a serviceman (us) based at mildenhall. The serviceman was on tour so the car was left for long periods unused, the garage owner used it, his daughter just used it at weekends. When bought over in 2010/11 it had done roughly 10 k miles, it was serviced and fully undersealed by rustmaster, has the sticker in the screen, it was literally put in every cavity under the car, so unlike the monaros over here, it has no rust underside or on top. When i bought the car it had done 16 k on the clock, it now sits at just under 26 k. Was not really sure wether to believe the mileage when i bought it online, but it turned up and judging by the interior, the underside and overall condition, it appears to be correct. Please bear in mind that this is a 2006 car, so its been on the roads for 15 years.Paint is nice and it shines up well.During my ownership, it had a rear fog light fitted, not a boxy add on , one of the rear reverse lights was converted, so looks nicer.I ordered aftermarket rear mufflers for it from the states, pricey but was worth it, not over the top and nice at crusing speeds, still have the orignals that are obviously in good condition. The clutch slave started leaking, so i had a new one fitted, while the box was out, it had a new ls 7 clutch fitted, rear engine seal, propshaft centre bearing ( support) and a new aluminium radiator fitted. Work was all carried out by carl herkes who runs ls performance in southampton. Cost just over 2 k in work. I cannot find my receipt for this work , however if you contact him in facebook, he can confirm the work was done, ls performance is on facebook, so is he. Over the last 18 months its had 4 new tyres, oil change and rear diff has had an oil change, aslo had new brake pads front and rear at the start of the year. The car has 6 cd change unit as standard, still has its original spare, jack and chocks, pretty much unused.I have the owners booklet, brochures, cd rom as in pics It has halo headlights as in pics.Every car has some bad points.Paint on bonnet could do with redoing, it looks nice but has some stone chips, has some microblisters on top of passenger wing but paint still intact.Rear headrests have the stiching coming away and 2 small joins on top of rear seats, common issues on these cars.Spares are easily got through rockauto in the states If you are looking for a monaro and your on the fence about lhd, the gto is not limited to 155 mph as standard. Also the monaro is pretty much top rung of the vehicle tax tree, the gto, is the lower level tax as its an import. Insurance tends to be cheaper as well through an american insurer. It will run on e 10 fuel if you want, its not had standard unleaded put in it since ive owned it, it always has premium fuels,Obviously speaking on fuel, it will not get the mpg that a fiesta gets. However the 6 speed box is your friend on longer journeys, 30 mpg is not unknown on motorways. Around town it can do alot better than old v 8's as well.Overall, i know im doing the wrong thing selling, so please, no timewasters or hole pickers please.I only have one key, thats all i got, i may have a blank spare somewhere if i can find it, it can then be cut for the car, on the forums they tell you how to program the key, its literally put the key in the ignition for 10 minutes and press a few things, if i used the car daily, id have got it done, but it gets used weekly to drive to poole and back over a weekend. The registation number vx 52 lee is no longer on the car, its back on its original number plate as in one of the pics, AF 55 CHK IS NOW THE REGISTRATION NUMBER.The car is as stated 2006, it has all the scratches and little marks a car picks up over the years, nothing blindly obvious, few cracks in the front bumper, stone chips ect. So not showroom, but then im not asking showroom money, car is sold as seen, im a private seller and do not offer warranties.I will px or swap for an older pick up truck,1983 back, nothing falling apart though or needing a load of work and welding. Please, no traders, im not selling for financial reasons. Thanks for looking
