This Honda is an absolute diamond.
I have been Honda enthusiasts for quite some time and have owned many Honda's over the years. This car stands out from them all. Its solid steel body and classic car feel makes it a pleasure to drive.
For this car to leave the garage. the weather conditions must be perfect. I constantly get stares. thumbs up. and people wanting to talk about it while I'm pumping gas. At car shows. you will see lots of Camaro's and Mustang's. but only a few classic Honda's. Some people invest $50. 00 in thier classic car. pull into a car show and see 10 just as nice. This car is one of a kind.
The classic Mustangs and Camarao's have hundreds of vendors that supply reproduction restoration parts. classic Honda's do not. I have seen a few generation 1 Honda Accords. they are always missing parts. have faded out emblems. sloppy paint work. and have over 100k miles on them.
This car is mechanically reliable as my Honda S2000. Starts right up. all the lights and signals work. brakes feel firm and new. steering is nice and tight. and shifts as smooth as butter. It's remarkable how a car 34 years old can drive so well. The only note is the factory AC is not blowing cold. It has never been an issue for me since I love having the windows down when I take it out.
I acquired the car from the original owner. There was some slight oxidation on the hood and 2 door dings on the driver door. I took a paint shop that specializes in classic restorations and told them “I want it perfect”. Since the age of the cars paint. the only right way to have it perfect was paint the entire car. They took every trim piece off. the bumpers. emblems. handles. and repainted it the original 1979 “St Mortiz Silver”. After 3 weeks and $2600. I had my pristine Honda Accord "show car".
I am selling the car because Im planning to purchase an NSX and my garage has no more room.
The previous owner was a senior citizen when he bought it in 1979.
This car has been pampered since I took possession. It smells fresh and sits under a cloth cover in the garage.
Don't miss your chance to own this gem. you may have to wait years to find another one like this.
The rarity of this car justifies the investment.
