Current customer rating:
FIRST YEAR HONDA AZ 600 COUPE
This is a very clean example of a first year US import Honda AZ 600 Coupe.
Built October 1971[ 10/71] it has all the 1971 AZ 600 features. though it was first sold in 1972 as a 72' model and been registered that way since new.
Small is an understatement. it is about three license plates wide! Great 600 cc Air Cooled SMOG exempt [ in Cali] 45 MPG original "Green Car".
Started off with a very low mileage [ 31 K] California car that was restored back in 2004 with a huge collection of NOS parts that the couple who restored it spend a few years collecting from the many Honda Dealers that got out of 600 parts back then. The restoration was about
$18 K in 2004 dollars. and took them about 3 years.
-Rebuilt the Engine. Transmission. and all front and rear suspension and exhaust system parts.
-Interior got a new dash pad and door panels with a full new carpet kit and seat upholstery.
-Huge investment in secondary plating work in Cad-Gold that was applied in the engine and spare tire areas as the parts were removed.
-Car was painted everywhere except the inside C pillar area near the rear hatch[ door frames were sprayed]
-Engine compartment is super clean with all new repo decals. taped off undercoated areas as original etc. Well Done!
Car is 95% done. and a few small issues are left to repair to finish it up again that age has brought out since I bought it in 06'
1.
The car has small cracks on the rear hatch near the two hinge points[ typical to the AZ 600 Coupe]. A good resin repair and finish would fix that up[ I think the prior owner used Filler/Bondo which has no structure in a high stress area like that].
2.
One Tiny bump on Drivers front fender[ 1. 25"Tall x 1/4" deep with no paint marks. so could be "Dent-less Paint Repaired" on out.
I have owned three AZ 600's and never seen one this clean in two decades.
One sold in 2010 at Barrett's for $27. 00. oo Highest for an AZ 600. so these are rising.
I would never sell this car as I spent decades looking for one as clean as this. if I did not need to. but lucky for YOU I must sell it.
Bid ONLY if you are serious and ready to go.
