Delorean DMC-12 Automatic Excellent Condition

1981 De Lorean DMC 12 VIN ending in 05017

Automatic. Gray interior.

The vehicle runs. drives and handles excellent and can be driven anywhere with confidence. I drove the vehicle over 1000 miles when

I purchased it from Houston Texas to Davenport Florida with no problems. Also has ice cold A/C.

Odometer is showing 9. 79 but I am the third owner. The second owner that restored the vehicle said he had to replace the odometer

cable so I have no way to verify actual mileage. Mileage is "exempt" on title due to the vehicle's age.

A lot of work had been done towards a complete restoration by the previous owner. Too many things have been done/added to list. I have a folder

of almost 100

receipts totaling over

$14. 00 from October 2006 when the vehicle was purchased from the original owner until my replacement of

the steering

rack last month.

Most of the reciepts are from Delorean Motor Company. and Delorean Parts Online Retailers. This restoration has been very well documented thanks to the previous owner. I have an entire tote of new and used parts including an ecu and other electrical modules and a

few other items such as a service manual.

John Z. books. brochures. and other

assorted gems that will go along with the sale. I also have the original

two knob radio and the original cargo net.

Here are a few of the highlights:

Fuel System: New from tank to engine cylinder. New pump. fuel pick up. new fuel lines from pump. new stainless braided fuel lines. rebuilt fuel

distributor. rebuilt warm-up regulator. new accumulator. new fuel filter. new fuel injectors.

Brake System: new stainless lines. new fluid. new pads. rebuilt and powder coated wheel calipers all around. new master cylinder. rebuilt brake booster.

Steering/Suspension: New front and rear shock absorbers. New Steering Rack. tie rod ends and Alignment

Engine: New spark plugs. points. condenser. cap. rotor and silicone wires. Recent oil and filter change. New belts.

Transmission: new fluid. new solenoids. rebuilt shift computer.

Cooling System: new hoses. thermostat. added transmission cooler. Fan control relay upgrade performed (no more burned out relays!)

Miscellaneous:

New tires. New A/C blower motor. New horns. New wiper arms. blades. washer pump and squirter. Door lights replaced with

LED lights. New Remote keyless entry. New upgrade to Wings door lock actuators and digital control module with built-in diagnostics. New seat

upholstery. headliner. floor mats. dash. binnacle cover. glove door. replace door lights with LED lights. All new door. hood. trunk struts.

N ew power (Upgraded metal aftermarket) window regulators. New power mirror control switch. New steering switch/stalk assembly.

PAINT INFORMATION: The vehicle had been painted maroon when the previous owner purchased it from the original owner.

The previous owner

then had it painted Viper blue which I then had painted

Pewter silver to get the color to at least resemble stainless steel. Recently I stripped the

3 layers of paint from the center “T” panel as you

can see in the photos and the stainless is in excellent shape with only light swirl marks. I have

looked on the inside of the front fenders. hood

and doors and haven't seen any sign of body work. I wasn't able to examine the rear quarters

because they would need to be totally removed.
