1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

I have up for sale my beautifully restored 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. The car has undergone some major modifications! It has a full EV West electric conversion which consists of fully electronic drivetrain. The motor uses a custom adaptor plate which still utilizes the factory transmission in the car. The car still has gears, but no clutch. I leave it in 2nd gear mostly and it has plenty of torque from a stop and will go around 45mph comfortably, then can shift into 3rd and achieve 60mph or so. Currently the car is powered by 4 - 48v Chevy Volt batteries. Two are wired in a series and then parallel with the other set totaling 96v of running voltage. The motor and speed controller will handle 144v of voltage. So this is very conservative with this current set up. You can easily add 2 more of these batteries and have 120v of running voltage and achieve higher speeds. The car itself has been fully restored with new carpet, door panels, reupholstered seats, new dash, and the list just goes on - you get the idea. The car also has a 12v car battery mounted under the rear seat that powers all the running gear such as your headlights, stereo, windshield wipers, etc. Its a really neat and unique car that gets a lot of attention! The car is nice and tight, doors close nice and firm. The paint is not in the best of shape and was going to be the next on the list to update if I were to keep the vehicle. The car is very simple to operate and is user friendly. It has a big charger for the 4 - 48v batteries and a small charger for the single 12v battery all wired to a single plug where your factory fuel fill cap is normally located. So you just plug this in and let it charge up for when you're ready to use. No need to open the hood or mess with any of the electrical. I also have a large file of receipts for the build and documentation of all the parts installed on it. This conversion was done about 3 years ago and the car is used approx twice a week and garaged for the rest. I am unsure of the exact range of the vehicle as I just use it for mostly pleasure and know I can go across town and back without any issues and that's about as far as I have needed to go. There is plenty of room to add more cells for added speed or add distance. These lipo batteries are light and are about the size of a normal car battery. This car gets constant double takes since it makes no noise and is the center of attention at any VW meets, no one has ever seen anything like it!
