hi right I've just looked at v5. 've had a lot of emails saying it could be a lowlight. n the v5 it states declared manufacture 1950…but says date of first registration in uk 1991…and the chassis no is smm 1002. so may have had high headlights fitted if abroad…as low light parts were a premium…regards…please make your own mind up…or let me know.

hi to all watching my mm morris minor. have received a great email of a helpful chap regarding the morris…so this clears everything up…

This is a 1951 mm.
Your vehicle is listed in the MMOC records list as a 1951. chassis number 100. 1950 numbered chassis finished around chassis 80000. This car is one of the first with high headlights and also noteworthy as having the short bonnet which was replaced later in 1951. It probably was one that also had painted hub caps for 6 months when they ran out of chroming materials!

The car could have retained its original registration MGP . as non transferable because. when it was first put on the DVLA computer the owners could not satisfy DVLA sufficiently that the number was authentic enough to be put on the computer in the normal way. They used to let the owner have the number but made it non-transferable!

DVLA have got it wrong on the year. which they so often did in the information added in the early years. this could be corrected using the MMOC info. and also the heritage info. if you wished too.
