1949 FORD F1 HALF TON PICKUP TRUCK FLATHEAD V8 RESTORATION PROJECT for sale

1949 Ford F 1 half ton pickup truck. It's 63 years old!Just in from the US this is a very straight truck. Still running its original 239 cubic inch FLATHEAD V 8 ENGINE with 3 speed on the tree column shift transmission. As you can see from the photos. apart from the wheels . tow bar and the twin exhaust pipes she's all original. For the main part the tin work is very good and very straight. Yes it is missing the front lower fender panels which have rusted out. I can supply as aftermarket replacements if you wish. The running boards have rust. the front grill has dents but other than that she's very straight. The chassis is solid with no rot. All replacement panels are available for these trucks from both UK and US sources so parts supply is excellent. All trims and badges are present and correct. The cab area is excellent. floors are solid. all dash panels and gauges are present and in very good condition which is quire a rarity. There is even a cab heater which was an optional extra when new!All glass is intact with no damage. The truck starts runs and yard drives. the brakes do not work. This is a straight forward restoration. it will need usual recommissioning ie fuel tank cleaned out. brakes. tyres. ervice items etc etc. The truck will come with the Customs and Excise NOVA form and the original US title enabling simple UK registration. Don't forget this is exempt from an MOT due to its age however does need to be road worthy. SO . in summary. an original cool truck but remember its biggest plus is its original FLATHEAD V 8 engine. most had the straight 6. this is the very desirable option and now a rare find. You will need to trailer the truck home obviously. Please no daft offers or comments. these trucks are rare in the US and are expensive to find and ship to the UK.
