Extremely Rare Q Electric Milk Float For Sale for sale
Current customer rating:
For sale is an extremely rare Q Electric milk float, designed by the Bluebird team, and holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest journey ever made by an electric milk float (officially measured at 1,031 miles).
Fully serviced in August 2021, with new batteries fitted in 2017, ‘Bluebell' the milk float has been converted to an extremely high standard, with the addition of an enclosed rear, including fitted windows and catering hatch, making it ideally suited for a range of business uses, such as catering or as a mobile performance / workshop space. With an overall length of just under 5 metres, the vehicle is longer and faster than most milk floats, travelling at an average speed of around 20 mph, and capable of travelling up to 50 miles on a single charge.
2 x Zivan hi-frequency chargers have been fitted in the main cab, which allow the batteries to charge from a normal wall socket or camp-site hook-up (unlike most milk float batteries which rely on heavy and inefficient chargers that require a 32-amp charging point). In addition to this the motor has been re-built, and a new controller and foot-pedal fitted, which means the main working parts are all as new.
As well as being environmentally friendly, Bluebell is economical to run, with no road tax to pay, no MOT required, and can be driven with a standard driving licence. Also fitted are 2 x 175 Watt solar panels, on a custom-built frame that allows them to rest above the roof, giving the panels ventilation and preventing cracking of the roof. The solar panels are wired into 2 x 110 Ah quality leisure batteries via an MPPT controller, supplying an 800 Watt inverter for 240 V power, and includes a hard-wired cable that connects to a 24 V battery charger for topping up.
Probably the only Q Electric Milk Float still on the road in the UK, ‘Bluebell' is certainly an eye catcher, with a beautiful stylish design that turns heads wherever she goes. If you want a great advert for your business, Bluebell is definitely a winner – after all, she's a record breaker!
