Volkswagen : Bus/Vanagon Fire-Emergency Bus for sale
Current customer rating: (293 votes ) based onmanufactured in Germany.
We purchased it from an individual in the States. All documentation
seems to verify that this vehicle was actually manufactured and driven
in Germany before arriving in the USA. We were told that it
was used in Germany as a Fire-Rescue vehicle. The
previous owner put it in VW shows as a fire bus with the fire hoses.
fire extinguishers and old wooden ladder. Many German items are
included such as the old First Aid Box with the old German wrappers. br> and a rare old German Fire helmet. An old emergency siren was in the
bus. but not hooked up. I took a picture of it sitting on top of the Bus.
It works great and has plenty of sound. The wires just need to be
connected and part of the plastic cover is missing.
There are THREE(3) German emergency road markers.
One has German writing on the back; and one came like-new in the
hard plastic yellow box shown. The plastic box also has German writing.
The bus has a rare side step. a rare tow bar . nd the blue bumper is very rare. The bus was packed full with extra VW parts
such as a 36 HP VW engine. 18 or more carburetors. engine tins and more.
See the many photos showing tons of other parts.
I do not know what VW vehicles the parts may or may not fit;
or if any of the parts work. They are being sold "AS IS" with the bus
because I am not a Mechanic. and have no need for the parts.
NO PARTS SHOWN HERE WILL BE SOLD SEPARATELY.
The tires are brand new. The engine has not been
started in several years. but did crank
with good compression before it was set up. The bus has been pulled around in the yard more recently and hauled in to have the new tires installed. The engine is turning freely. We acquired it
simply because we loved VWs. and were really excited about
one that we had never seen before.
Our intent was to have it professionally restored and maybe
enter it in shows. We never got around to fulfilling
that dream. We do not know when this bus was last driven. The license plate on it shows 1995. We towed it home in 2001.
We do not have a battery in
it to try the lights or any other instruments. It looks like all the
instruments are in place in the bus. All the glass are in place
on all the windows. We have reluctantly made the decision to let it go.
