1970 Porsche 911T Coupe

Really good car that needs finishing or going back to standard.

Original spec was cool colour of Sepia Brown…imported from Oregon USA.

All taxes are paid and the car is at our workshop in Essex ready to go.

As you can see from the pictures the car now has a body kit fitted

The kit is fitted rather well for a fibre-glass kit if you wanted to carry on with the big arch look. If you wanted to restore the car then you would need to remove the existing kit and re-weld the arches. The rest of the shell looks quite good on rust. The floors have been repaired to a certain standard ( poorly in my opinion) and there is a split in the rear right pan. so might as well replace them. There is a small split around the right-hand torsion bar area that looks like a split and not rust. The front suspension/tank support panel has also been replaced but obviously not by the same guy as it is done rather well. the inside support panel is not the best but ok. There is a hole towards the front right of the floor pan/inner wheel arch and I did examine the parcel shelf which has also been repaired. Kidney bowls etc all look really good…. so only needs minimal repairs as a whole…. there is no crash damage or anything like that…the red paint is of a good quality but was done a while ago and the car has obviously been in storage or with a sheet over it.

The engine is a standard 911T engine. It turns over by-hand but we can't run it as it was from a sportomatic and needs a manual flywheel fitted to run it. The gearbox is a standard 901 5speed box. again I have no way of testing it but like the engine is probably perfectly useable.

Summary = I would spend time repairing the floors again and repair the front right-hand area along with the split in the right-hand rear torsion bar area …also do the upper tank support panel and then the shell is perfect…. weld the original arches back on if you want the car back to standard.

Bits that are missing:-

Wind-screen. head-liner. door cards. arm rests. front bumper. spare wheel. jack or tools. some tin around the engine.

Everything else appears to be there…the front seats aren't original along with the steering wheel also…. there maybe a few odds and sods that I have missed. so look at the photos closely…. Wheels are repro 15” x 8” and gearbox is 5 speedo correct for the car…. the glass is all original green tint.

We are selling on behalf of our customer and you are a potential customer to us. so we have no need to bend the truth or play games. The car is at our work-shop so can be examined any time and we can also put the car up in the ramp and dig it with screw drivers should you so wish. This is an auction so there is no ‘buy it now' price. please just bid normally and the car will be sold to the highest bidder…

A quick calculation in my head = £2k for welding. £5K to paint (if you don't like the red and body kit) . £2K for bits that are missing and another £2k for the unforeseen…Total of £11K to spend…Say £15k to be on the safe side…Now consider what the car is worth done and that is what you should be bidding around…plus you have the reassurance that the car is rust free and built properly to your spec…. even if you go over budget the car would have gone up by that amount in a year any way!!!
