MGB GT 1974 with uprated Oselli 1950cc Engine - FSH - NEW CLEAR MOT for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 62 votes
Welcome to the sale of this upgraded MGB GT.New MOT on 27th Sept 2021 just to check it is all good even though it is exempt. Relisted as buyer did not read the advert.Finished in Vermillion it is great car with many sensible upgrades. The Oselli engine is a 1950cc unit with a Weber Carb and a fast road cam (a little uneven at idle as with all race cams but great for high revs performance). It was rated at approx 117 bhp when fitted. This unit was fitted - according to the history and invoice - at 121k (so it has covered 24k ish since the fitment in the early 90s). It pulls very well and sounds great through a full stainless steel exhaust. It also has an upgraded kenlow fan fitted. Following a full restoration in the mid nineties this car has been kept - accorsing to the last owner -as a show piece since. Along with the upgraded engine it had gas telescopic struts fitted and mini light wheels. It appears to have always been kept in this good order. A recent set of tyres was also fitted including the spare. It has a full sunroof and the interior is in excellent order with no rips or tears. The history file goes back to the 1980s. This car was in Holland until coming back to the UK in the 90s. The logbook reflects this but it is classed as a historic vehicle so is road tax free and MOT exempt. This car has not covered many miles since its last MOT.The logbook shows 5 previous owners and the history appears to confirm this. In our opinion this car is ready to tour as it keeps up with modern traffic very well. Although a very solid car in all the usual places it does have some 'orange peel' on the paint work. There is a slight paint mismatch where the rear wing tops have been restored. We can find no signs of rust so to make it a perfect car perhaps a flat and polish all over or a new coat of paint would make it a 10/10. The overdrive is not currently working. As with all Classic Cars it is best to come and view it and make up your own mind as all descriptions are subjective. This car is sold as viewing and tested. Any inspection is welcome and encouraged. There is a walk around video on Barnes Classic Cars Facebook Page. We are in Dunmow, Essex. Viewings by appointment. Viewings are on hard standing and undercover. Inspection lights provided along with a cup of tea! Please give us a call on 01371 499325 - if we are not in the office please leave a message and we will call you back. Thanks for looking and good luck.Payment on collection only.
