I imported this Daimler in from Holland a couple of years ago. It had originally lived in England for a number of years after new, then exported (without the export being noted) to Germany. It retains its original number plate issued therefore from new. It is currently on a private plate which will be switched once a sale has been finalised. With original mileage now showing at 62, 803 miles, it comes with an entire service and vehicle history over its lifetime. It is in perfect working order and does not fail to delight, especially with the sound of the Edward Turner semi v8 engine; which feels akin to a Merlin Spitfire engine or some such, in my estimation! Finished in a beautiful dark metallic British Racing Green colour, it is in superb condition throughout whilst keeping almost all or its originality. a brand new Daimler wire wheel set was fitted by Salters Garage of Ottery St Mary who look after all my cars. They also did extensive work to bring the suspension and various other parts to original or better condition. A comprehensive folder of photos can be found on a link in the next few days, when I have time to upload (on my website) herehttps://williamoxer.com/daimlerThe DLOC club wrote back to me after I contacted them, describing the car as rare as hens teeth, especially with regards to both original manual gearbox and the fact that it was the earlier, wide bumper version. Of the approximately 200 manual overdrive cars, approximately six were built as the cars were fitted with the manual box, as the wide bumper models were being changed over to the narrow bumper model on the assembly line. It is thought that these cars were still on the assembly line as the switch over was taking place. It is not known how many of these six cars exist; it is possible only this one. The fact that it has been so cared for and maintained so beautifully in its lifetime can only make it more extraordinary that it has not only survived, but has thrived. This car is in Devon. I am selling only as I have six cars, two under complete restoration and I am looking to cash in my investments to buy a larger property.
