This DAX Tojeiro was built by an engineer around 2006 and is in truly excellent condition. With just 3 owners, the most recent having bought it in 2014, and 3400 miles on the clock. The Porsche Horizon Blue paint is very good overall with just a few stone chips on the leading edge of the rear arches and one star on the left front wing from a stone that's kicked up from the road. The Chevrolet 350ci engine has been bored out +0.030" and is fitted with Air Flow Research aluminium cylinder heads, TRW forged pistons, roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Holley 650cfm carburettor and Reed camshaft & lifters. It has a trap door sump and Manley oil pump and the pistons & crankshaft have been balanced. There is a stainless steel fuel tank, stainless exhaust system, adjustable pedals and a sump guard. The T5 transmission is driven through a McCleod high performance clutch and drives the wheels through a Jaguar differential. Front and rear suspension is also Jaguar based. The 17" Image alloy wheels are unmarked, new Goodyear front tyres just fitted. The interior is well trimmed in charcoal leather and it has LUKE 4 point harnesses fitted. MoT until end of September 2022.

Driving this DAX can only be described as exhilarating. The engine fires up easily and, typically American, settles into a nice idle once it has warmed through a bit. Clutch and gearshift operation are positive and, once on the move, the steering, whilst a little heavy at parking speeds, eases and provides very direct control. Acceleration is, to coin a phrase, blistering, legal speeds being reached in somewhat less than 10 seconds. Much the same can be said of illegal speeds. What is surprising is how easily it sits at 30mph in 4th, when, for example, stuck behind a tractor - a frequent occurrence at this time of year around here. When the road becomes clear there's no need to downshift, leaving the gearbox in 4th you can plant the gas pedal and find yourself rushing past the aforementioned obstacle with ease. After driving a car like this you'll find yourself smiling, I certainly did.

This beautifully constructed DAX is kept in my workshop and is available for inspection and test drive any time.
