Classic Mini 998, Cooper replica, full MOT, excellent condition inside and out

I'm selling our 1992 Mini 998 Cooper replica to make room for a new project. In first class condition, mechanically, structurally and cosmetically - with everything working so it's all ready to drive away.We've styled it as a Cooper replica, though it's originally a 998cc Mini City E so really good on insurance.12 months MOT, 81399 miles, recent service, excellent condition throughout.We bought this car several years ago to do up as my son's first car. To get it road-ready we had the following work done at the well-respected Classic Mini in Sheffield -New floorpans, both sides.New vented sills - proper sills, not caps.New heelboard, with extra reinforcement.Rear valance plate.Rear suspension was also completely rebuilt with new cones and refurbed trumpets, new radius arms, and a reconditioned rear subframe fitted. All new brakes pipes and new brake shoes/pads and fittings. The interior was stripped out and then refitted with refurb door cards, wooden dash, new seat belts etc - see details below. The car has been comprehensively worked on and is absolutely structurally perfect, with new front subframe mountings fitted for the MOT. EXTERIORResprayed in brilliant red, paint code will be supplied with the car.White Minilite wheels with Mini Cooper centre caps. To be fair, we haven't used the Mini much this last 18 months, my son now drives a VW :(  In this time it's been well looked after, and has been taken out for regular runs to keep everything working and moving as it should.The car has always been utterly reliable, and starts first time with the right amount of choke even when cold.Road holding and cornering are superb, as you'd expect from a classic Mini, and the servo-assisted braking is strong and predictable. The induction draw from the air filter and the exhaust note give the Mini just the right sound when revving up. Sounds spot on for this little car and it's not too noisy. Brilliant for channelling your inner Michael Caine in The Italian Job...This Mini has never failed us - for example, we took it on the 60th anniversary London to Brighton Run in 2019 (the stickers are still on the car). We drove from Yorkshire down to Crystal Palace, then the next day from Crystal Palace to Brighton then all the way back up to Yorkshire. The car didn't miss a beat, not a single problem and was absolutely brilliant and settled. This really is a great car to drive. We've always had waves, smiles, flashing headlights and lots of attention when on the road, and I've lost count of how many people wander up to have a 'Mini chat' when it's parked up. The Mini truly is a British motoring icon and is just so full of character. Personally, I'm a little sad to see it go, but it's not being used as much as it deserves and so it's time for someone else to join the Mini club, and to have all the joy & smiles that driving a classic Mini gives you.Being nearly 30 years old, it does have some signs of age as you'd expect but the car is still excellent and polishes up very well. Wheel arches, A panels, scuttle plate and headlight surrounds are all in very good condition - these can often be problem areas for older Minis. All the chrome work is also in very good condition, especially the bumpers and overriders, though rear light surrounds do show some pitting. To be honest and transparent - there's some surface bubbling now appearing on the offside rear quarter (about 40mm x 30mm though the panel remains solid) and some also around the boot hinges, and some minor flaking on some of the external body seams. But the car still looks brilliant even close up so I'd say viewing is essential.Please note, the Mini is also advertised elsewhere so may be withdrawn from sale at any time.UK BUYERS ONLY.
