Citroen 2CV AZU - Classic Van - 1961 -

Here we have a Citroen 2CV AZU 1961 “Bijou” Van. This was imported to the UK in 1992 and I have owned it since November 2010 It has been looked after and resides in an industrial unit where there is a good ambient temperature and no rain.   Although I have had work done to it alas the time has come to sell because I will be needing the money to go towards tuition fees.

It cannot be overstated that these early. more compact. incarnations of the 2CV as a van are very rare and are becoming highly sought after. This would make for an ideal restoration project or just keep it as it is (as I did).

Overall it is in very good condition given it's age. Yes it does have a few bruises but It has the potential to be something superb (if you so require) A quick Google search will show you how much these sell for when fully restored.

I havent driven it since July. the battery is flat (can easily be recharged) but I fear it may have a cylinder head problem. Quite common in old 2cv's and it can be quickly rectified but as it is an extremely rare old thing realise that you are bidding in that context. This is not an everyday driver (yet).

I got it through its last MOT which expired July 2013 and used it once a week at a catering event. In the time I have owned it I have had a new carb fitted. new battery. 4x new tyres. and a 2nd hand manifold.

It runs on a 6V setup with a 425cc  petrol engine. Many people seem to upgrade this to 625CC 12V setup but it really depends what the vehicle is used for.

As you can see it has a few bruises but most of it is surface rust. when i bought it I got the underside wax-oiled. and the interior roof painted as well as the floor in the cab. It runs on Unleaded petrol it is laughable how fuel economic it is! And its cheap to insure. And you wont be paying Road Tax.

 The other thing worth pointing out is that at some point in its life a French farmer got a bit trigger happy with a rivet gun in the back of the van.

This vehicle is located near Falmouth. Cornwall. You will have to collect the vehicle yourself in person or if you like I can recommend a couple of flat bed drivers who will deliver for you at very competitive rates. Viewing can easily be arranged but do not expect to test drive as it has no MOT or insurance even if I can get it started!

I would just say that I am pretty miserable most of the time and nothing can put a smile on my face when this car starts up and you take it for a spin. Im gonna really miss it. its a real head turner!

For the buyer I will also throw in a couple of Haynes style restoration books And there'll be a folder full of documents relating to the vehicle history.
