Offered for sale by Barons Classic Car Auctioneers at auction on Friday 24th September at Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher, KT10 9AJ

The TR6 was introduced in 1968, and was the best-seller of all the TR range. TR6s featured in-line six-cylinder engines, and like the TR5, it was fuel-injected for all markets except the US. The Lucas mechanical fuel injection system helped produce 150 bhp at model introduction, but it was later detuned to 125 bhp. The TR6 had a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, pile carpet, bucket seats, and full instrumentation. Braking was by front disc brakes, and drum brakes at the rear. A factory steel hardtop was optional.

This 1975 Triumph TR6 was originally supplied and registered in the UK. It seems that it was exported to South Africa in about 1988, and has just returned. The car was originally finished in Mimosa Yellow with Chestnut trim, but has now had a change of colour to Triumph Powder Blue with Navy Blue leather trim. The car has also been fitted with a 5 speed gear box kit, using a Toyota gearbox with a quick shift, and this kit currently costs about £4,000 before fitting costs. The CR prefix on the chassis number denotes a Petrol Injection model, but the car is now fitted with Twin Stromberg Carburettors.

The car has in the recent past been fully restored, It is in superb condition, inside and out, with very good paintwork, chrome, and what looks like a nearly new set of replica Minilites and Pirelli P6000 tyres. The Navy Blue leather trim and carpets and the trim in the boot look to be nearly new. The hood is good, and there is a good hood tonneau. The car has a hardtop, but it is currently on its way from South Africa, and can be collected by the new owner from the Barons office once it arrives. The car is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system, and has an oil cooler which has a thermostat. As with many cars from South Africa, this car appears to be completely rust free, and it is in superb condition.

The car is currently being registered with the DVLA. The NOVA documents are present together with a BMIHT build certificate.

Please note that the Classified Advert price is the lower Auction Estimate, and not a Buy It Now Price. The car will not be sold prior to the auction.
