For sale low mileage 1980 Porsche 911 SC Targa. Car was imported from North America by myself last year. Odometer shows 52,753 miles. I bought it from Halifax but the car spent most of its life in New Mexico. Car has never been welded, please refer to floor board pic. Throughout my ownership I rebuilt the engine. Heads were done with new valves, guides, seals. Low compression pistons (US spec) were changed for Nikasil Mahle Euro spec high compression pistons (these are worth almost 3 k). Dilavar head studs were replaced with steel head studs. I would never buy a Porsche without this upgrade. Chain tensioners were rebuilt. It has new heavy duty motor mounts as well. The CIS system was also redone. This included a new Euro spec airbox (different from the US spec cars as they have wider bores). Airbox was also modified to have a pop off valve (extremely important upgrade). Intake runners were also changed for the Euro spec type (again wider bore). In essence this car has a Euro spec motor. All vaccum hoses are either new or have been checked. WUR has been cleaned and rebuilt. Original CDI box has been replaced with an MSD 6 AL and a coil blaster 2 which is a must have on these cars. The infamous green wire has been replaced as well.Heat exchangers are in really nice shape and and were installed with stainless still hardware. It has a cat delete pipe. O 2 sensor is new.Wheels are Michelin pilot sports and seem in good shape. Front brakes have been rebuilt with new pistons, seals, pads and flexi hoses. Gearbox is a 5 speed 915. Shifts beautifully. Bushes on the coupler have been upgraded with heavy duty ones. Shift plate has been replaced as the old one cracked. Now for the bad. This car is NOT perfect. Paint is far from perfect but still looks good. This car is a driver quality car so please don't expect perfect. Car has a leak on one of the lines that goes to the oil reservoir. I am waiting to do 1000 miles on the rebuilt engine to drain the oil and change the line. Easy and cheap fix but i just don't want to drain the oil just to drain the oil again in a few hundred miles. Also, its a new engine so at 1000 miles it will need its valves adjusted again. The engine is still being broken in. Another bad thing, this CIS system is finicky. So far its behaving but it can give you problems however as of now control pressure are as per spec and the car has NO vaccum leaks (easier said than done). I will include a second WUR which I have modified to make it adjustable to ensure the next owner doesn't have problems with control pressures. Speakers are disconnected and the fuel gauge sometimes doesn't read correctly even though I installed a new fuel sender. Car is obviously fully serviced with new fuel filter, oil filter, new rotor, new cap, new spark plug wires, new spark plugs. As the valves will be need to readjusted in a few hundred miles the car comes with an extra set of valve cover gaskets and hardware (they are 50 quid). A lot of time and money has been spent on this vehicle. I have receipts for almost everything. Car has no previous history unfortunatley. I am an enthusiast not a dealer. I am asking what I have put into the vehicle. Car runs beautifully, really comes alive at 4500 RPM. Cheap as chips to own as its MOT/Tax exempt. I pay 150 pounds a year for classic car insurance. So much more work has been done to this car I just cannot write/remember it all. No warranties given or implied. I will only entertain very close offers. Also, no test drives unless proof of insurance and funds. Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
