FORD ESCORT MK1 MEXICO GENUINE TYPE 49 SHELL 1972 TAX EXEMPT for sale

This is a genuine AVO type 49 shell with all the tramp bar brackets. hassis skids. oot floor studs. ack hooks etc. Its been blasted and 95% of the welding repairs caried out to a good standard. Its the early battery in the boot model. The bulkhead has been repaired and the heater bubble just screwed on to make it easier to finish off before welding it in place. The inside of the doors need finishing and spraying. This was due to be a rally car but luckily saved from the forests of South Wales. The only alterations to the shell at this time were. the  gearstik hole was cut out. however another tunnel will be supplied to rectify this. Also the fuel filler was welded over. This is another easy repair as it was not cut out. The only other thing . roll cage plates were fitted. now the front and rear arch plates have been removed.

The paintwork I would say is ok for a rally car but it would need re-doing to give more attention to detail for a road car. I recommend viewing to satisfy your own needs before you bid. we all know the value of these cars in a rusty state but with this one there are no hidden patches under 40 years of underseal. It comes with front grp4 Bilsteins with roller top mounts. ented discs. M16 calipers. a proper RS steering wheel. 4 x four spoke alloys. a Mexco pedal box. all glass. wiring loom. 1/4 bumpers. tandard rear axle and shocks. The lights are there but not wired. Fuel tank . grill & rear bumper etc all included.

The log book states blue and 5 owners. I havent put it in my name to save on number of owners.

I have access to a ramp so any viewing welcome before end of auction. NOT after.

Listed for 10days so if you are interested you have plenty of time to view and see how solid this car is. I am only selling to fund another project. I may take another mk1 or mk2 parts in part ex through Ebay. hanks for looking. ny questions please ask.
