VW GOLF GTI MK2 16V 3 DOOR. ONLY 91K MILES. 3 FORMER KEEPERS. RUNS AND DRIVES.

Volkswagen Golf mk2 16V 3 Door GTIOnly done 91k miles 3 former keepersStarts and drives,  I'd drive the car up and down the country without hesitation.Total original example. Never had any lowering suspension, never had any sports exhaust, still has original radio and original speakers, it even looks like it has never been painted! Original alloys it left the factory with and has a brilliant matching set of Goodyear Eagal NCT 3 tyres.The car was used as a daily car up until 1999 and then left parked up in a garage with approximately 90k miles on it and forgotten about. Almost 20 years later it was found and bought by a enthusiast in 2018 and put back on the road as a mechanically sound and reliable driving car to use and with a view to redo the bodywork to make it mint. He was advised by fellow gti enthusiasts to leave the bodywork as it shows how genuine the car is. A  lot of mechanical work was done to the car by him to get it to be a reliable daily use classic but he didn't use it much and has been parked up for the majority of the time since 2018. I discovered the car through my work and as its such a genuine example I had to buy it to sit alongside my mk1 GTI. I've done around 400miles in the car of which 250miles was a long motorway journey down to London when I bought the car and the car didn't skip a beat!!! It comes with all the books and folders , service book stamped up to 89k miles in 1998 along with some invoices also up until 1998. Then there is a bunch of nvoices for parts in 2018 when it was put back on the road. Had a immobiliser fitted in Jan 1998 just before it was parked up, it still works and he 2 immobiliser keys are with the car along with the installation certificates. Comes with the original key! The one that came in the plastic 16V sleeve. Heaters, electric windows,  central locking, clocks, dials, gauges, horn, wipers, lights and sunroof all work fine. Apart from the rear of the roof lining sagging the Interior and seats are in AMAZING condition! Don't rattle on the inside as its never been taken apart and refitted 100 times like all the other ones that have had multiple sound system etc. The clutch release bearing has just started making a slight rattling sound whilst the car is running idle and clutch depressed. Probably needs a new clutch release bearing.... Also it could to with tuning as not completely smooth on idle. I will get this looked at if I get time. Please see pictures for condition of body. Radio works and one only one speakers was working today although other did start crackling around roundabouts so probably loose speakers connection. Starts and drives fine, doesn't overheat,  electric fan kicks in when it should,  accelerates and brakes in a straight line. A great car to drive.l and like I said before will drive up and down the country just fine. So if you are a long distance away you can be confident with driving it back home from London without the worry of breaking down or constantly looking at the temperature and fuel gauge to see if they are giving the correct reading. I'm asking £10k for the car as it Is and might consider a part exchange with something else cool. You are more than welcome to come a view the car but don't come if you are coming to find things wrong with the car expecting to get a bargain. It's a 34 year old car and looks good for it but it's by no means immaculate. I have been as honest as I can so please have a good read of the description and go through the pictures to see if its for you. Without causing any offence to genuinely interested buyers and so we're all on the same page i don't want to know if you have seen cheaper ones with lower miles for sale elsewhere, if you have please go and buy that one as it will save both of us time. If this looks like it needs too much work for you then it's just not for you.
