Volkswagen Golf mk1 convertible Rivage GTI Excellent Condition Genuine Car - 112,348 MilesFor sale is my much loved Golf Rivage GTI.I have owned the car since 2002 and used it for a few years before it had a problem with the head gasket. Around that time we were moving away for work so she was parked in dry storage and thats where it sat for a few years. During this time I had the head gasket repaired, new water pump, new alternator and few ancillery bits replaced. Its wasn't until 2015 that I deceided to really get on with restoring her. Since then the car has had a full professional paint refresh by CMS coachworks (£3,000), lots of small issues fixed, worn parts replaced and anything that looked tired changed including badges, stickers, trim parts, seat runners, distributor, exhaust box and suspension.Even though the head gasket was done I wasn't happy with a noise coming from the top of the engine and it was advised it was tapets. Instead of just doing these I had the whole head refurbished and rebuilt by MODUS (£849) and put back together. I ran the car last year ok with this done but there was still a strange noise even though the car ran fine. I had an engine specialist look at the car and he advised it was something in the engine so this was stripped and rebuilt with new shells, rings etc... As such the car now has a fullly professionally rebuilt engine top to bottom (£725). A new clutch was also fitted at the same time. So all major mechnical parts have been replaced and refreshed and should be good for another 100,000 miles!!The interior has no rips or tears in the seats and is in good condition. all door cards are good. There is a small split in the drivers door top trim, you can buy these still if you wanted to change it.Then Mohair power roof works as expected. It does have a couple of small tears in, but has been recently treated so if fully waterproof. No rust all solid!Will come with 12 months MOT as this is being done next week even though it currently has one until November.Everything has been with out the expense in mind. The car drives great, starts on the button and goes as expected:Bad parts:The MFA doesn't workSlight squeak from one of the exhaust brackets when you decelerate fast, Its due on the ramp next week so i'll get this looked at.Small rips in roof.Lots of documentation but no manual and the service book is there but has the cover missing so I can validate it 100% it was like this when I bought it.I HAVE LOTS OF PICTURES SO PLEASE ASK AND I WILL SEND.
