For sale is my beloved BMW E28 525i. Car was produced in 1983, equipped with 5-gear Getrag manual gearbox, fully electric windows (all 4), electric mirrors, central locking and brown tinted windows. Finished in Lapis Blue color and light beige fabric interior. I'm BMW enthusiast for decades, I've restored and owned many BMW cars from the 80's and 90's. I've got collection of a couple more BMW's from that era. My collection is growing and I'm lacking space hence the sale.  I bought this car in 2018, restoration work was completed in early 2019. She is non sun-roof model so rust I've had to cut out and the repair undertaken was not serious. All suspension turrets front and rear were rust free, chassis rails sound and also rust free. No rust in usual places associated with sun-roof equipped cars like windshield scuttle panel or rear window surround.Places like boot floor and rear panel the same, rust free. I've had to repair both sills where jacking points are. As often with these cars due to inadequate liftingprocedure in her life, steel sections have been deformed letting water inside the sills and promoting rust. The rear wheel-arches weren't in a great shape, so I've decided to cut them out and new repair sections welded in. Both front wings replaced with brand new parts. New seal for boot glued in.Rear sub-frame was removed for surface rust removal and brand new polyurethane bushes have been fitted.New polyurethane bushes to rear trailing arms and brand new bracket/mount to rear differential also fitted. When sub-frame was removed I've examined sub-frame mounting points. The one on the driver's side needed a repair.Front McPherson struts were also removed for surface rust decontamination and all rust-proofed along with front andrear anti-roll-bars which were additionally equipped with new bushes and new brackets and along with other suspension and steering parts. Gear lever linkage bushes have been replaced and new rubber mounts for Getrag box mounted. All repaired areas have been treated with Novol 360 anti-corrosion epoxy primer and polyurethane paint. Noxudol Cavity wax was applied where necessary. Inside wheel-arches and on the sills I've applied Noxudol 1600 coating. Car is rust-proofed with very good, tested quality products. All suspension components on both axles have been changed, using parts from brands like Meyle, Lemfroeder or BMW only.New Pagid braking discs and Textar braking pads also installed. New front, braided braking hoses fitted. Most recent braking part exchanged is braking accumulator, so called "brake bomb". Car has been lowered 30mm on the front and 20mm on the rear, running Germany made K.A.W. lowering springs and dampers. New front top mounts and dust covers for all dampers fitted as well. When completing this car as always I've used brand new bolts and self-locking nuts as advised by BMW when removingand installing back car components. All bolts and nuts have been done with adequate force, following BMW advised torques. She is powered by legendary M30 engine, six cylinders in line. Engine capacity is the smallest of all M30 engine family group but is still producing impressive 150 BHP. Work carried on the engine was mainly maintenance based.I've replaced rocker cover gasket, inlet manifold gaskets and rubber hoses important for proper engine vacuum operation.I've replaced banjo bolts on the oil sprayer bar securing that lubrication of the top end of the engine is correct.Engine is running very smooth, it's very quiet as for M30 unit and not loosing oil or coolant. Cooling system was replacedwith brand new water pump and new temperature sensors. Most recent part replaced is brand new thermostat, the old one wasworking there since 1983(!) not letting the engine to fully warm up. Engine is breathing through sport air filter made byPipercross which is working in original, BMW designed air duct system. Engine-bay look is nice and clean thanks to re-painted thermostat housing and rocker cover (high temperature resistant paints used). I've also replaced under bonnet sound deadening pads with new ones.Exhaust is custom made, stainless steel one running from down-pipes to the end. Containing middle twin pipe muffler and back box with twin tail pipes. It's coming with inserts to reduce the level of sound which are now installed. The note of the straight six engine coming out from this system is amazing, addictive and not too loud when cruising. Car paint was applied by a professional car sprayer. Original Autocolor code for BMW Lapis Blue color was used. Only the roof remained factory original, it's in a great shape and perfectly matching with the rest of the car paint-work.Chrome trim is in a fantastic shape with no rust or damage. Rear bumper is fitted with brand new rubber strip, clips and brackets. Rust-proofed from behind as well. Front bumperhas one spot of decolourisation in the size of 50p coin on off-side corner. New chrome trims were fitted for windshield and rear screen to match the rest of window chrome work accessories which are perfect. All car windows are genuine and factory original. Rear screen de-frost is still functional and working as should. All powered windows are operational and all switches are functioning without any issues. Interior and exterior lighting is working perfect with brand new registration lamps at the rear. When she came to me the interior was in really good condition, what attracted me the most was the fact she has had the correct fabric pattern for 1983 car on all seats and door cards. Even if genuine front sport seats are not original items for this model, they suit the car very well, it's also worth mentioning the front seats are in original and fantastic condition.  What is even more satisfying is the condition of dashboard, yes it's 100% crack free! The interior is nearly 40 years old and is hard to believe it has survived that long and still is in such a great condition  including the carpet which was removed from the car and was thoroughly cleaned out. One chip on the back of the driver's seat cover and bottom of both B-pillar covers are the only areas affected by the car's age. Steering wheel is rare, first generation Raid leather wheel with removable center pouch and with brand new gear selector knob is completing sporty interior look. There is no stereo system in the car at the moment. I'm a purist and I prefer listen to the music created by straight, big six engine instead. However if a new owner will decide to have a music playing system in this car, everything what is needed is present. Wiring for a radio and speakers is there. There is even genuine fader for this purpose as well. She is running on set of very rare and expensive wheels at the moment, gold BBS RZ 412's are staying with me and will not be sold. I've got very clean set of period correct alloy wheels made by German company Whey King which are 14 inch big and 7" wide with quite aggressive offset of 10 mm (ET10), so this means they fill up wheel arches nicely without using spacers or adapters. Tires are fresh and still have at least 6 mm of tread depth left. Last two pictures showing car rolling on those wheels. Furthermore I'm including other set of wheels (5 of them), factory original BBS Mahle wheels.Their spec is 14" big, 6" wide and ET22. She left BMW factory on them but they are in need of a refurb.I'm thinking about and trying to find any faults this car has got and believe me is hard to find any. Any existing ones are cosmetic like mentioned above B-pillar covers or a little cover damage on the back of the driver's seat. I should add there are some tools missing in the tool box and the remaining ones are covered in patina rust. She's running sweet without any mechanical or electrical issues. She's getting attention everywhere I go and will put a smile on your face every time you will press accelerator pedal too enthusiastically. I've got two keys, car's has got full service history, coming with genuine service book, owner's manual and other booklets and also with chronologically organised folder with all bills and invoices for parts and labor which is super thick and heavy. Previous owner counter stopped at 10 and she will be given a fresh 12 months long test upon sale. She will be soon treated as a historical vehicle. In two years time she will be tax exempt. My asking price is quite firm. I'm open to sensible offers but will refuse any with part-exchange. Strictly no dreamers or time wasters. Genuine buyers welcome. Please contact me to arrange viewing. Thank you. Adam.
