mk1 vw jetta 20vt

Here is my mk1 jetta! I bought it to scratch a jetta itch i couldnt shift, i also have a mk1 golf and the plan was to keep the golf as a long running showcar build and have the jetta built as a really nice, head turning family car (i dont like blending in). Iv ran the jetta for 2 years and its never missed a beat. Its not used daily as i drive a van most of the time but is a driven family car most weekends.Here goes then....I bought it tired and unloved in april 2018 and sent it straight to a local garage that specialises (mainly) in mk1 golfs (www.deutschedoktors.co.uk) there it was stripped on a spit, taken back to bare metal, repaired, painted fantasia green (we had a lupo the same colour at the time) inside and out inc raptor lining the inside. Everything underneath was powdercoated and polybushed. They fully refurbished, painted and fitted a low mileage 1.8 20v turbo engine (ARZ) with BAM pipework and a 180bhp ecu, the install also incorperates a radiator/intercooler package from joe at fresh reflections (instagram him...hes awesome!) forge splitter/recerc dump valve, full smooth scuttle cover. Its fitted with ap coilovers (could be lower but was going for sleeper/classic look) huge calibre turbo front brakes, rear disc conversion, upgraded servo and master cylinder, period strosek alloy wheels. The inside has black dash and doorcards, heater control relocation and double din head unit, audi tt black leather front seats and original rear bench trimmed in real black leather with stitching to match the front. Gti steering wheel. The boot has a simple install thats fully removable and hides the relocated battery, a sub and amp, spare wheel and some cleaning bits. Theres speakers in the original holes in the rear and a front centre speaker up front using a cabrio speaker pod (original vw part) what else.... clifford alarm with remote central locking! I must have missed something but you get the picture im sure...Iv spent a small fortune (hope the wife dosnt read this)...Car bought for £870Deutsche doktors bills added up to £21,600The rad and cooler was £1627On top of that I bought the black interior, seats, coilovers, head unit, boot build, sub and amp.... spending has been endless!Its a driven car so it has minor imperfections but overall its a stunner. Definatly turns heads and makes strangers strike up conversations in every carpark you stop at from car enthusiasts to elderly couples who remember them from back in the day! It goes and stops like a modern car, they are pretty rare these days (esp in this condition) and being built in 1983 is very nearly mot and tax exempt! Never been shown due to the dreaded covid. Iv got a folder with over 100 photos from throughout the build! Located in stoke on trent. Ill drive the test drive.
