Here is a rare opportunity to own (and drive!) a record setting piece of history! How rare? Well, who else has a '69 Camaro SS that has never been titled or registered?

This 1969 Camaro, known on the racetrack as “The Green Meany”, has NEVER BEEN TITLED! It set several records during it's racing life – including the first for Showroom Stock car to run a quarter mile under 13 seconds back in 1971!!! (see pictures)

The original owner worked at his family's dealership, and that gave him the unique opportunity to unload this “sleeper” from the transport truck himself. He took immediate ownership of this 1969 beauty – undercoated it himself – and all original documents (including MSO) are included!

Take a look at the pictures to see the high quality condition of this classic car and watch the video to see it racing back in the day! This car was built to be a sleeper, and was tuned to perfection. The original owner went on to become an engineer with GM. He developed a patented ‘switch plate' stator for a racing torque converter with this Camaro-- after that, he created 24 other patented inventions.

This listing also includes BLANK Protect-o-Plate, fan shroud, radio, heater box (w/control), rotors, calipers, and spindles.

From the original owner ”In 1974, I sold the original 396-375(L78) to purchase a 427…At the time, who would ‘thunk' it, that the muscle car era was a unique and short period of time. After a couple of years, I tried to find the original engine but it was not meant to be. So I found the same vintage engine (L78) outside of Cleveland. It was from an SS Chevelle. That's the engine you have now”

This car has been in a temperature controlled garage the entire time we've owned it.  This exceptional survivor Camaro is equipped with a Cowl Induction Hood, Power Disc Brakes, rear mounted antenna, 12 bolt rear end, and Endura front bumper.

With only 17,715 Miles

Be sure to check out the videos above of this historic dragster!

Car is available to be inspected in person at our shop (Dynamic Corvettes- Saginaw,MI) until 8/22/21

Here is the letter we received from the original owner (note: some information has been redacted on the owners request for privacy- if you purchase the car, you will receive original documents)

I hope this finds you well and happy. Your letter eventually made it to me. I've been purposely incognito after tiringfrom GM in November 2008. I enjoy a privatelife now and try to keep it that way.

It looks like my wife and I will be cooped up inside today with hopefully this last round of winter. So this might be a good time to write the Camaro' s anthology.

I've assembled probably more than you've asked for in the accompanying CD's and DVD's.  It was easier for me (and less expensive) to do it this way. I needed to convert a bunch of family VHS tapes to DVD's anyway. I do hope that the formatting on the CD's and DVD's are compatible with your PC. If not you might have to take them to some 'geek' place to have them read. They open & read fine on my equipment. Included are scans of my records, news paper articles, still photos and drag racingvideo clips.

I think I've pretty much chronicled the background of the 69 Camaro. As it turned out that car was quite influential and a large part of my life…probably to an excess!

Kansas - Nebraska Background

I was the oldest of six boys, also having two older sisters. My father was a Chevrolet dealer, initially starting in Kansas where I was born. In 1959, our family moved to [redacted], Nebraska where I did the bulk of my growing up.  My brother Joe and I got into go-kart racing in our tweens & early teens.  We traveled to mostly dirt tracks in Kansas and SW  Nebraska  We were quite competitive  and  won our  share of races.   The "[redacted] Brothers" was the team to beat! J That was the start of my racing 'career'.

During the summers,my Dad told me that I either had to go out for sports or work in the garage at the dealership. Initially, I opted for sports, but after getting hit in the head two times in the same baseball game I decided that I'd had enough! L So I started doing odd jobs in the Used Car  Dept.  Then, when I was a little older,I started ' wrenching' as a mechanicin the Service Dept. Eventually, I was a service writerand assistant service manager.

My first drag race car was a 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS. The day after graduating from high school I went to Manhattan, Kansas for my first trek down a legitimate 'quarter mile' . The '63 had a 396 BBC with an Edlebrock  cross-ram  intake and a 4-spd.  trans.  I was pretty proud of that car, but as it turned out, I broke an axle or some other drivetrain componenton every Sunday that I raced. I won't bore you with how many parts I broke·in that car. However, that eventually factoredinto the subjectWant to buy this car?
