Vehicle Details

1987 GMC/PIERCE fire truck. 52,000 miles, runs great I've had no problems with this truck. VERY VERY little rust. It was a fire truck and therefore impeccably maintained, I found only two holes in the floorboard from the floor liner leaking road salt water, those were repaired and the whole interior floor of the cab was repainted and sealed, as well as sound deadener sheet installed. The floor liner has been replaced as well.

The front fender wells were removed, repaired, repainted and reinstalled coated with marine corrosion inhibitor, from the cab forward the frame cleaned and coated with corrosion inhibitor.

From back of cab to centerline of rear axle: 86-1/2”

Detroit V8 Diesel engine

1000w block heater

Intake heater

Five speed Clark transmission with PTO

Marmon Herrington all wheel drive, transfer case shifts fine (manual, not air shift) front axle engagement solenoid works well.

Pierce aluminum fire body with 400 gallon water tank. Parts of the water system have been removed, the primer and main pressure pump are still there, among with a lot of the piping. The electric retractable hose reel works.

There are four twist lock 20a outlets at four corners of the body, three bins have outlets inside them.

Industrial power inverter in the rear bin runs the outlets and the shore power plug can be switched to power the outlets as well for power tool batteries. The shore power plug runs an onboard battery maintainer and air compressor to keep the air brake system charged, as well as the block heater, its all wired through the shore power plug. The shore power plug has a solenoid that ejects the cord once the truck engine is started.

There are four 500w mast lights that extend to 16 feet vertically. The two rear lights have LED bulbs, the two front have halogens.

This was going to be converted to a mobile welding truck, unfortunately I don't have the time or money to complete the project.
