This 1935 Ford Model 48 Tudor Sedan is a beautifully restored example that has been meticulously cared for. For the first time in 25 years, Ford introduced its new 1935 Model 48 at the annual prestigious New York Auto Show in late December 1934 and later became the best-selling car in the United States. Ford's theme in 1935 was "Greater Beauty, Greater Comfort, and Greater Safety," and when you look at a '35 Ford it's easy to see why. The Fords were longer, wider, and curvier bodies gave the cars nicer rides and roomier bodies. Yet, the more angled windshields and narrower radiator grill treatments gave these new Fords a sleeker, cutting appearance. The mechanicals were also updated in 1935, which made the cars more reliable and nicer to drive. Ford's Flathead V8, originally introduced in 1932, had become a major hit for Ford and by 1935 it produced its 2 millionth Flatty. Under the hood on this '35 Tudor Sedan is the famous Ford 221 Cubic Inch Flathead V8 with a single 2 barrel carburetor that pushed out 85 horsepower back in 1935. The Ford Flatty is hooked up to a 3 Speed Manual Transmission that is shifted using the floor mounted shifter and has a great feel. This '35 Tudor Sedan sits on 4 wide whitewall bias ply tires that are wrapped around bright green painted wire wheels, which give this classic Ford a stunning exterior look. The exterior on this '35 Ford has been refinished in a gorgeous Black exterior paint that harkens back to Henry Ford's old saying that "you can have any color, as long as it's black." The exterior chrome and brightwork on this all steel Ford is absolutely stunning and is in excellent shape. The roomy interior cabin has a beautiful look! The front bucket seats and rear bench seat have been re-covered in tan cloth which give this car a nice period-correct look. The dash, banjo-style steering wheel, door panels and headliner all have an excellent look and appear just as this car did when it rolled off the factory floor. The dash is in its stock configuration and is equipped with a 100 MPH speedometer, amp gauge, and gas gauge.
