"More than ever, a polished performer on the open road." -1963 Chevrolet Corvette dealer brochure
The copywriters who created the '63 Corvette brochure excerpted above were not exaggerating. The design and engineering changes to the Corvette for that model year were nothing short of amazing; by far the most dramatic year-to-year change for the two-seater to that point. The car was an instant hit, and the '63's appeal has only grown to the present day. Alas, what was "polished performance" in 1963 is very much considered "unpolished" when compared to current sportscars. But what if you could have the best of the 1963 Corvette updated to deliver performance that's truly 21st Century? The just-completed and fully updated Laguna Blue Corvette Convertible offered here is a terrific answer. Having traveled just 1,187 miles since its re-birth, in many ways, this is a brand-new, and very potent Corvette.
The car's exterior paint-Laguna Blue is a factory Corvette color-was professionally applied to a very high standard; it literally glistens in the light. The "427"-badged hood (from a '67 model) includes a black "bumble-bee stinger" stripe, and most important functions to deliver air directly to the engine intake. All factory emblems are properly mounted on the hood, rear deck, and gas-filler cap. Chrome front bumper and rear bumperettes, as well as tastefully limited chrome body trim, are in perfect condition. Exhaust is routed through custom-designed side pipes finished in both chrome and brushed-metal "striping." Lighting lenses are perfectly clear, including on the backup lights added for safety. Flip-over headlights function as they should. Period-correct, 17-inch American Racing® wheels wear performance tires; the wheels allow a good view of the Wilwood®-branded, red disc-brake calipers.
The car's interior is a very appealing combination of the traditional with tasteful upgrades. In the same fashion as the exterior, the level of execution in the car's cabin is stellar. Bucket seats feature black leather upholstery in a horizontal-pleated design, separate headrests, and the Corvette crossed-flag logo embroidered on the seatbacks. Black carpeting covers the cabin floors with the same crossed-flag embroidery. The standard Corvette sport steering wheel frames the instrument cluster in the driver's pod of the dash; all gauges are new (in part to accurately monitor engine performance) but mimic the original design. The dashboard surface is leather with deviated off-white stitching. The Corvette emblem is centered in the factory location, while a brushed-metal glove-box door occupies the passenger's dash pod. The center console hosts the 5-speed manual transmission shifter and power-window controls forward of the emergency-brake handle. A center armrest is upholstered in black leather matching the seats. Every surface in the car's interior is virtually perfect.
Raise the front-hinged hood, and the first sight of the ZZ 454 V8 GM Performance crate engine prompts immediate gasps. Amidst a perfectly clean compartment, the spotless chrome valve covers and air-cleaner cover top off the impressive powerplant. There's a tantalizing glimpse of the exhaust headers. Viewed from below, that glimpse of the exhaust system grows into stares at the massive exhaust piping, the custom coil-over rear independent suspension, the disc brakes all around, and absolutely everything showing as highest-quality, spotlessly clean, and expertly installed.
Please see the list above for more details on the car's component sourcing.
We fully expect and invite in-person inspection of this beautiful, collectible, fully updated '63 Corvette Convertible. We ask only that you call or email us for an appointment in advance so that we can devote our full attention to you during your visit. Meanwhile, the more than 130 high-definition photographs of the car and the short walk-around-and-startup video on the GarageKeptMotors site faithfully represent the car's condition, but feel free to call or email with any questions.
The '63 Corvette brochure referenced earlier also trumpeted "Power Teams Tailor Made for Sports Car Fun." One can only imagine what the creators of the original car would have to say if they could see this Laguna Blue car's "power team." It might hold them speechless, with sheer delight bound to be their next reaction. And "wide-eyed" would most likely be their on-the-road experience. All that awaits the next owner of this magnificent re-creation: A '63 Corvette true to the marque, but spectacularly unlike any other.

About Garage Kept Motors
Garage Kept Motors, LLC specializes in classic and specialty online auto sales.
For our consignors, we are the only auto brokers that offer a Transparent Sale Disclosure. This means, when a car sells, we provide an exact copy of the Bill of Sale. We do this so our clients know exactly who bought their car, where it went, and most importantly how much we sold it for. No funny business.
For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos and descriptions, a “no surprise” approach, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen. We are not a gallery. Vehicles can be seen locally by appointment as potential buyers are given our undivided attention.
