1990 Mercedes 500SL R129 for sale

This listing is for the sale of my 1990 R129 500SL.

I bought this car in 2019 having had my eye on one for a while to use at weekends and to go to car shows.

When purchased, the car had been sat for a number of years but fired up straight away with fresh fuel.

I carried out the following work immediately after purchasing the car to get it all up and running nicely.

- Oil & filter

- Air filter

- Fuel filter

- Spark plugs

- Transmission oil & filter.

- Alloy wheels diamond cut refurbished.

- 4 x new tyres.

- Complete brake overhaul including new discs and pads all round.

This work was carried out in 2019 roughly 2,000 miles ago, as that is all the mileage I have done.

The hardtop is also included.

Interior leather is in good condition.

For the latest MOT, new front shocks were installed.

This has the strong M119 5.0L v8 coupled to the 4G-tronic automatic gearbox. Which is all in great working order and it drives nicely.

Bad points: Convertible top is working but needs end travel adjusting to enable a smooth closing (this can be demo'd - at present an allen key is used to make the last 2mm of travel). Bodywork - it looks good from a distance but there are lots of minor scratches upon closer inspection - these were picked up when it was in storage prior to my ownership in a very full garage. Rust patch - small patch on both front wheel arches.
