Hello and welcome to the auction of my very rare September 1972 Ford Granada GXL 4 speed Manuel with 3.0 V6 Essex engine

I have owned this car now since May 2014 and I am currently the 8th owner. When I first brought the car it was in Grey primer and had star shaped alloy wheels on it with an exhaust going out the side. It also had a Gia grill from a later model on it. I had the car re painted in original Sapphire blue from when it was new. I found and brought some original sport steal wheels to go back on it with 5 new tyres including spare. I had new head lining put in it and a new vinyl roof fitted. I also replaced the Gia grill for a much lighter plastic grill and added spot lights to the grill for a more retro look. I also added a separate temperature gage as the speedometer one wasn't working. The fuel gage had stopped working sometime ago and could need a new sender unit of could be a broken wire somewhere. However I do have another complete speedo for this car that I will include in the sale. Also the centre console is from a mk2 Granada but I also have the correct centre console to put back in this car that I will also include in auction but it needs painting to match interior and needs gear stick surround and ash trays etc to build back up. The car also has to radios one in dash and one in centre console but are not active. I also got some nice new chromed side mirrors that I got put on the front side doors and GXL badges on side pillars and boot lid. I replaced the rear light clusters as the old ones had faded and put some LED bulbs in to make the rear lights a bit more brighter. The exhaust was replaced about 7 years ago with a MK2 exhaust that also fits a mk1. There is a slight blow from one of the joints in the exhaust but it doesn't have any holes. Wheels could do with re painting as was painted by myself badly to try and match the car more. Dash had no cracks in it but could to with minor re fabrication above glove box area and door cards could do with tidying up. Rear view mirror has a clip fitting missing that can probably be found on eBay that just needs fitting back into roof lining buy someone who can do interior fitting for cars. Both driver and rear seats are in good condition with no rips and passenger front only has a small hole at top. Rear roof interior light I don't have that needs fitting back in. The car does have some minor rust spots on body work that I have tried my best to show in the photos due to only being able to put limited number of photos on. Driver door has some white chipping on paint work but can only be noticed close up. Only 4 years ago I replaced the door rubbers and boot lid rubbers and sun roof rubber that I don't open. Car runs and sounds great attracting many views wherever she goes. She has been lowered slightly by a previous owner. Carburettor has had a recent re build with new gaskets. Petrol line filters where replaced about 2 years ago as well as the mechanical fuel pump and new spark plugs where fitted last year. I have replaced wiper blades recently and a new battery was replaced about 3 years ago.

I have a big folder shown in photo of loads of old MOTs and lots of bills of work done to the car over the years. Looking at the bills the first owner had the car over the first 30 years of its life.

The car has MOT till June 2022 but can be applied to go exempt. However it is Tax exempt. I am happy to email more photos of the car privately to anyone interested in buy my Granada.

I have decided to put my Granada up for auction as I would like to buy a MK2 Granada and haven't got room for 2. But I am fond of this car and will only let it go for a fair price otherwise I will just keep it for a bit longer as cars like these are getting rarer all the time and I'm in no rush to sell.

I would prefer cash on collection but winning bidder must pay £100 deposit within 24 hours of auction ending through PayPal or the car will be re listed. Buyer to collect from CB7. No buy it now as I will just let the auction run till the end.
