With the introduction of its turbocharged models, the Bentley marque turned a corner, with new popularity due to the exceptional characteristics the cars possessed.

The Turbo R brought more performance, equipment, refinement and desirability. Today they remain an eminently usable and luxurious modern classic.

This Australian market car was delivered new by York Motors and is finished in a very attractive metallic colour Dark Oyster which complements the exterior fittings. It was specified with “thin over thick fine lines” silver coachlines. The paintwork maintains an excellent sheen today.

Mushroom hide was specified inside, with Granite carpet colour and Light Grey Marvelon headlining. With seat piping in subtle Slate hide and black hide for the steering wheel and dash top and bottom, the interior looks very smart.

The specifications included sports style seats, individual rear seats, picnic tables, Granite coloured lambswool rugs, a rolltop lid to the central stowage box and a fire extinguisher. Additionally air horns and opening centre armrests were ordered. All of which, along with the very high level of Turbo R specification, made for a tastefully and very well appointed car.

The car's early history is not known by the seller, however the car has been with the same family for around two decades. There are invoices covering work done and parts supplied dating back to 2011. Notably, in 2013 the brakes were substantially overhauled and at the same time a major service undertaken, plus rocker cover gaskets and belts replaced, at a cost of some $8500. Other work noted includes attention to the hydraulic system including replacement spheres. Most recently the owner instructed a specialist workshop to check over the car and prepare any necessary items in readiness for sale.

With some 124,000km recorded, the car drives extremely nicely. The engine runs smoothly and it is very evident that there's ample performance on offer. On the road, the car feels tight and handles well. There are no untoward rattles or other such issues evident.

As can be seen in the accompanying photos, the car presents very well inside and out. The bumpers are not scuffed, the alloy wheels show no damage and the paintwork sparkles in the sunshine. The luxurious interior has withstood the test of time well, illustrating that this car has been well cared for.
