Bentley S 1 Project Rolling Chassis Special
This is a 1956 Bentley S 1 rolling chassis re-imported from the USA (all taxes paid).
It is an exceptional chassis in very good condition. The car was to be my retirement project. but a change of circumstance means I now have to sell it.
It comes with a Bentley 6. 75 ltr V 8 engine complete with ancillaries and torque converter. SU carburettor induction and a Turbo 400 gearbox which can easily and cheaply be converted to manual shift. The V 8 engine was last run 15 years ago and has sat in dry storage since. Also included are front brake discs and callipers. Bentley front surround. big bore V 8 exhaust. selection of instruments. lightweight seats and Bentley steering column.
The chassis has been sand blasted and painted in red oxide ready for final prep.
The Bentley 'S-type' chassis is in many ways superior to the Mk VI or R-type - steering. suspension. rigidity. axle location and ease of alteration to name but a few. My plan was to build a fast road tourer. but any type of
Bentley special could be built from the ingredients here. With donor
chassis' now very scarce this really is a unique opportunity if you hanker after a fabulous Bentley special.
