Up for sale is this 1973 MG Midget. It has a 1275 cc 4 cylinder engine. rear wheel drive and hydraulic brakes. disc front and rear drums. It has twin SU carburetors. and has been fitted with a hydraulic brake booster to give added braking power. It has been fitted with a rivergate conversion 5 speed Datsun 210 transmission for a smoother shift and 5 th gear allowing for a more comfortable top speed. The electric fuel pump was replaced in 2000. the alternator was replaced with a new unit. and a battery disconnect added for long term storage. It has a fresh battery and new tires in addition to windshield wipers. The top has was replaced in 2000 and shows a little wear with a minor patch. It has custom wood steering wheel with shifter knob and oem seat belts. The motor was rebuilt by the previous owner. Runs rich on start. needs new carburetor needles. and the only gauge not working is the speedo. which was disconnected when the transmission was replaced. rivergate offers a custom drive to reactivate it. This car handles very well. it's an older car and I consider the shape to be in rolling restoration condition. You can see from the pictures that there is a spot of rust on the front pillar. I purchased the sheet metal new for this and it will be included with the car as well as the original transmission if requested. The horn was disconnected when the steering wheel was put in. Accessories and parts for this car are affordable and readily available. I've done some work on this car. and it's had work done to it over the years. someone looked after it well and cared for it. The floor pans have been well preserved by the spray on coating from the factory. The radio and speakers are new. the head unit and two of the speakers are marine application for if you get caught with the top down. the windshield wiper blades are also new. The car gets amazing gas mileage and is an affordable Sunday driver. it loves winding roads and in the fall the heater works great. It's had a new coil and halogen headlights too. It's got some scratches and the seat foam is a little cushy but the carpeting is recent and shows little wear. This car is in good condition for the age. it's a fun affordable classic and has provided me hours of fun. I hope it can bring you as much pleasure too.
